Over to Mayberry weather, yes, that big electrical storm in Dogs, dogs, dogs
I love all the references to Mayberry's weather conditions. Here's
another one: all the cattle thefts. It's implied that they took place after a
period of heavy rain since there's so much mud everywhere and therefore, a
lot of deep footprints. They even made a moulage out of it!

Recall that the courthouse scenes were filmed in a studio...How did they
get it to look like it was raining outside at the end of the Gypsies
episode? During Dogs Dogs Dogs, we just see lightning and hear thunder,
but when everyone is in the courthouse (in Gypsies episode),

I was once a Reserve Deputy Sheriff in NC and it was Dept. uniform policy
that we had to wear long sleeves year round and yes it does get hot in NC.
I worked the town of Faith, NC forth of July celebration when former Pres
. Bush and his wife Barbara Bush came
Weenie Man was asking why Andy and Barn never wore short sleeve uniform
shirts no matter how hot it got. Even when it was 92, they still wore long
sleeves. I can't recall any episode where a uniformed police officer had
short sleeves on. Since Mayberry was in the State of North Carolina, I
