In watching some Westerns yesterday, in one of them I saw Old Jud and James

side note, we've made our last Mayberry Days. I have a couple

Well if that doesn't take the cake. We are all a bird in this world, we
beat everything, and we are a sight !
This just goes to prove just how much this show is so true to life.
Brother, you are sooo right!
Once again, the writers and cast were amazing!

I guess I didn't think much about it when I responded with my least favorite
episode being any episode without Barney, but Dan Goodwin brings up a great
point. Our focus should be on discussing all the positive aspects of TAGS
(which are almost endless) and the various nuances that made for
Just about the sweetest scene of the series in my opinion is the one where
Barney and Thelma Lou are looking at furniture in the window. The way she
says, I know when he says he's not the kind of guy who can be
pressured--her affection for him is, well, sweet.
Cathy, this is a favorite
First of all, I must say that Ken's pastor must be one swell guy to
incorporate TAGS into his sermons, etc. Wish I could find a church like
that!I too watched the Christmas episode this morning, being housebound
for a couple days following surgery, and cried all over again when old Ben
I enjoyed another wonderful Mayberry Days and getting to spend time with the
fans and stars. As usual I handled the emcee duties at Mayberry Idle and with20
spots available we had 19 to sign up. Each year this event has gotten bigger
and bigger each year. So make plans to join us at idle next
I was able to Watch Ron Howard's recent movie, The Dilemma. As Howard films go,
I woudn't rate it as one of the best, but the appearance of his brother Clint
and his father Rance are delightful. Most know that Ron always tries to put
his family memebers in his movies, and this one is no
But for eight years the people at TAGS managed to show us so much of
Mayberry in so much detail. It was such a skillful way of getting us to
really feel we were a part of Mayberry and a part of everyone's lives when
we were actually invited into their homes and places of business in such

Like I said, I was all Uhh's. I was going to wear a tie, but with me fiddlin

Thanks Ladies for the comments on the way the ladies dressed for Garden
Club. They were very insightful and good explanations.
Ken, after all that so- so advice for your anniversary, you might want
to invest in a bottle of Blue Moonlight. Or go out to a fancy dinner
with a violin player
When Howard was on the Island..are you sure he went bare foot. I
remember seeing his fishing is long pants with shoes and socks.
When Andy went to visit Barney Judo teacher, Mr. Osimoto? I believe he
and the person sparring were in bare feet.
Strangely when Barney was in his Karate Outfit at
our downer world.
For that reason I have vowed never to post anything negative here but I must
respond to the horrible comments about Tom Kessel. I love Tom and Ken's
contributions to this site and I'm sure that Ken doesn't share the same
feelings I just read about Tom. From all of the positive
Regarding Joe Gritton's comments about the workings of this bulletin board, I
just want to mention that some of us that have been around a while don't write
in nearly as much as we used to. We've pretty much said what we've needed to
say over the years, but enjoy new posts. Next month, Allan
Hi Everyone,
I have been getting this digest for a long time now. I really enjoy
reading it. This is the
first time I am writing. I grew up watching the show. Barney has always been
my favorite.
I live in Nevada. I am wondering if there are any other fans out West.? It
