I've never watched this Andy Griffith classic from beginning to end without
interruptions until this past weekend, when it was featured on Turner
Classic Movies. What really struck me was how similar Andy's character of
Will Stockdale was to Jim Nabors' character, Gomer Pyle in TAGS - the

Just saw a promo on TCM (Turner Classic Movies) that they are going to show the
classic "No Time for Sergeants" movie Sunday night at 8. After that they are
showing "Onionhead", another great Andy movie where he joins the Coast Guard.
Just a heads up for those interested
I looked it up to verify and saw an article listing 9:15 eastern as the
airtime.

I was doing my usual channel-surfing last evening and was delighted to find No
Time for Sergeants just beginning on TCM. That movie still just tickles my
funny bones, and I love seeing how Andy's Will Stockdale morphed into Andy
Taylor (at least, in the first season of TAGS when Sheriff
ClassicFlix reports that Warner Home Video will release NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS
(1958) on May 4.
This announcement is based on solicitation information released by Warners this
week. A press release is pending, which will include additional information in
regard to bonus features. WHV execs
