there as was Orville Monroe.But the obscure TAGS alumni on this show was
Thomas Browne Henry.I have always enjoyed the acting of
I can’t even begin to tell you how many TAGS characters are on the old Perry
Mason episodes. From Willis Bouchey as a judge to Dabbs Greer yelling “Yes, I
killed him. I killed the big gas bag.”, (The Case of the Prudent Prosecutor).
Aunt Bee has a vital role in The Case of the Crimson Kiss.
It is pretty amazing how many TAGS alumni are in so many classic 1950's and
1960's television shows. The list goes on and onfrom "Perry Mason",
"The Twilight Zone", "Gunsmoke" to comedies like "The Dick Van Dyke Show".
A talented group of actors and actresses.
Today on MeTV several alumni showed up. In the first Gunsmoke William
Schallert and Hope Summers showed up. In the second Gunsmoke Jon Lormer showed
up. In Bonanza Ken Lynch made an appearance. Finally on Wanted Dead or Alive
R. G. Armstrong showed up. Quite the day for TAGS alumni.
First, I saw good ole Uncle Ollie play the Mayor of Bug Tussle on a pretty
funny episode of "The Beverly Hillbillies" - great character.
Then, a little later, on the classic Twilight Zone episode "The Monsters
Are Due on Maple Street", there was Miss Rosemary as one of the panicked
housewives on

On Friday, on Antenna TV, I was watching "That Girl".That Girl, Ann
Marie was going to meet her boyfriend's parents.Turns out that her
boyfriend's parents were played by Mrs. Sprague and Cyrus Tankersly.

Started watching Dragnet on ROKU Starting season one in 1951. They are not in
order but still just as enjoyable. I am amazed at all the Mayberry actors even

On this afternoon's westerns on MeTV I spotted several alumni. In Bonanza
Hubcaps Lesh and Mrs. Otis Campbell showed up. In the two Rifleman episodes
Clara Edwards showed up in one and the State Inspector from the Dogs, Dogs,
Dogs episode showed up in the other.
Today on Wagon Train several alumni appeared. Jean Carson, James Westerfield,

Saturday afternoon on Turner Classic Movies, they showed the 1975 movie
"Hearts of the West".There were lots of TAGS alumni like Frank Cady, Dub
Taylor, and William Christopher.But the Big Name in the movie was our own
Andy.However be warned if you ever watch this movie, Andy
First of all, Merry Christmas everyone. On Thursday's Gomer Pyle, it appears
Hubcaps Lesh moved to California and took up robbing liquor stores with Gomer
unknowingly helping her. Then on the evening Perry Mason Farmer Flint and Ben
Weaver showed up. Farmer Flint was the defendant.
I usually don't mention 'alumni sightings' because, knowing the caliber of the
actors and actresses who appeared on TAGS, it isn't really surprising to see
them in other shows of that era. I do, however, get a little kick when I see
them in much older, or much newer, movies and TV shows. I
Frank Gerstle who played Dirksen on The Manhunt episode of TAGS. He played
the helicopter pilot on the I Love Lucy episode Bon Voyage. Not sure how
many times I've seen that episode and I just noticed it today.

Saturday morning I was watching "Trackdown" on MeTV.That is a good show
to see TAGS alumni, because Hubcaps Leash is a regular on the show (She
publishes the town newspaper), and so is Norman Levitt (the first Wally).
Anyway, besides those two, there was also Orville Monroe and Naylor
Monday, on MeTV, they started the 30 minute Gunsmoke shows with episode
#1. Then they showed episode #2.In episode #2, Uncle Ollie was trying to

Yesterday in the grocery store parking lot a woman came up to me and
said how much she liked my Mayberry bumper stickers and how she'd been
to Mt. Airy many times; felt like meeting up with a long-lost relative!

The other day Grandpa Amos on the Real McCoys had to go in to town and

Then I was watching an old movie I had taped awhile back; in Cheaper by

Over the weekend I watched the movie "The Fortune Cookie" on Turner Classic

Caught a few minutes of 'McHale's Navy' this morning on AntennaTV and in
the scene saw the following TAGS people: Gavin MacLeod, Dan Frazer, Carol
Veazie, and Cheerio Meredith.
Watched 'El Dorado' this past weekend on GRITtv and saw the following TAGS
people: Arthur Hunnicutt and R.G.
On one episode of Gunsmoke, Denver Pyle was the bad guy...not just a bad guy
but a REAL BAD guywalked up on the man's porch and when the man opened the
door, Denver shot him in the chest! Not like our Brisco!!

Alumni Sightings
Well I'm cat sitting for a friend, and watching The Doris Day Show reruns (
69-73) on her Amazon prime subscription. I'm well into the fourth season. I
just had to write and say there are so many Mayberry characters, I don't
know where to begin. I haven't been keeping
Yesterday on The Rifleman Clara Edwards and Uncle Ollie appeared. Today on The
Big Valley, Capt. Barker, Mrs. Mendelbright's con man, and John Masters
appeared.

Just saw Mr Schwamp for the 2nd time this week on Gomer Pyle USMC.
And tonight’s episode was “Lou Ann Poovie sings no more”
Another surprise in this episode was Aaron Ruebin playing a record producer
named Richard O. Linke.

The other night, I was watching "The Twilight Zone" episode titled "Black
Leather Jackets" about an impending alien invasion. I thought the neighbor
looked familiar; it took a little while before I realized it was none other
than Denver Pyle (Briscoe Darling). Without any kind of an accent, and
Tuesday morning on MeTV's Perry Mason, we had Mayor Stoner and Naylor the
Chicken thrower.

Thursday, on MeTV Perry Mason, there was a treasure trove of TAGS alumni.
Our own Jim Lindsey was the person accused of the murder whom Perry
defended.Right there in the middle of everything was The Stranger In Town,
Ed Sawyer.And finally, the real guilty party was none
On this morning's Perry Mason, the county nurse (Sue Ann Langdon) appeared as
well as the little old lady who clanked (Laurene Tuttle).

Flipping thru the channels and stopped on the "Decade" channel about two weeks
ago and they were showing 'Laugh-In', George 'Goober' Lindsey was being kissed
by Jo Anne Worley.
CoziTV is showing 'Alias Smith and Jones' on Saturday and this past week three
different TAGS alumni were in the
I just saw Andy's cousin Gloria (played by Jan Shutan) from "Guest in the
House" episode on an original "Star Trek" episode. She played a new Starfleet
Lt. in the episode "Lights from Zetar" whose brain was taken over by aliens.
Scotty was falling in love with her. The funniest line was at the
