You are asked to donate an item for a time capsule, which will be opened
one hundred years from now. What Mayberry related item would you
donate?
A few that come to mind are: Barney's bullet, Andy's boots, Barney's hat,
Andy's badge, a jar of Aunt Bee's pickles, the signs on the courthouse
Time Capsule
I would add Barney's lucky rabitt foot.

Dewey, I think I would like to put a jar of Aunt Bee's bad old homemade
pickles. They might improve with age and be worth eating, might even win at
the County Fair.
I have a question and I know there are a LOT of experts on this subjects. I
am planning to go to Mt. Airy for vacation and want to
I think I would put Ellen Brown, the manicurist, in the time capsule. Now
I realize she isn't a true Mayberryite, but it sure would be fun to see the
reaction when they opened the capsule and found Miss Ellen. I bet they
would say, Now, that's definitely not a boy.

As for me,I would donate Barney's SaltPepper suit.A hundred years from
now, upon opening, someone would proclaim man, they sure knew how to
dress back
So how about Miss Crump's ruler from when she smacked Ernest T. on the hand
and forever became his mother figure? Maybe also, Otis's vase. I've
come to fill my vase.

I vote to put a jar of Clara's prize-winning pickles in the time capsule.
Umm maybe not, the excess heat would probably make it explode and ruin all
the other stuff. Oh well, maybe one of her ribbons with a little write-up
about it's significance?
Aunt Bee of Orlando
I think the candlestick phone would be interesting to future generations.
Maybe include a Mayberry phone book, they'd be amazed that people actually
had their phone numbers published.

I think an interesting item to put in the time capsule would be a cost of living
price list. Just think how amazed we would be to see how much everything
had increased years later. I remember in the 70's when I was in high school,
gas was only 58 cents per gallon ( if memory serves me correctly
Dewey, I'd have to include a bullet. But it must have a note attached that
says, One of these was never used in anger in Mayberry.

I vote to put Mr. Schwamp's hairpiece in the time capsule. Maybe future
scientists can actually figure out what it really is.
