Jim Nabors's hometown
Hey - I'm planning my vacation for this August, and I'm heading into Mississippi (Tunica and Tupelo) and into Alabama (mainly to take my mom on the Hank Williams, Sr. Trail). Today I located Jim Nabors's hometown, Sylacauga. Is there a museum there devoted to Jim/Gomer? What can folks in that neck of the woods share that would be worth visiting? After leaving there, I want to head to Ft. Payne, then Nashville - already have front row center seats for the Grand Ole Opry show. I'm pumped! Please give scenic advice for Jim's town. Re: Floyd's Flavors.
High octane ethyl is nothing more than Premium gas, or High Test. I do not think you would want to drink it. With gas going up another .04 cents over the weekend, I wish I had Barney's old Army surplus Harley with the side car. It should be good for at least 60 miles per gallon. and with that big hill on the highway in Mayberry you could coast a mile with the engine off. leaving their nest
Greetings everyone! News flash from the Mayberry Gazette Winken told Blinken, and Winken told Nod and Nod told Barney and I'm tellin' you all...our little bluebird nest of Fifes have flown the coop! They were so cute as they grew each and every day...and Barney and Thelma Lou were such wonderful parents...tending to their little ones every need...nice juicy worms and such at every meal. I bet now Barn is taking Thel out to Morelli's for a fine dinner, and he'll even splurge with the Gypsies' music (that is if he slips them a quarter). My beloved and I miss watching those beautiful birds every day, tending their nest... Barney the Bluebird going on patrol around the bird house, keeping check point chickee out day and night... Thel patiently watching from her perch on a nearby tree limb, singing her lullabies to her little ones... We hope they decide to return one day soon with a new brood to raise. Thanks for all the input on them fine bird names...it was fun! :) We'll miss the chirp, chirp, chirp coming from that little house But don't the trees seem nice and full jaywalkin' joan in NC AOL now offers free email to everyone. re: Reversed Scenes
Is it just amazing? I mean I (we) have all watched all 268 episodes countless times and yet there are things that we have never noticed. For example, the other night I watched The Rumor where Barney mistakenly thinks Andy and Helen are getting married and he and the town donate money to redo Andy's room. Well we know that Andy's room is on the second floor but there is an outside door that leads to ? In all the exterior shots there are no second floor decks, porches or balconies so where does this door go? Another Andy anomaly ! -Ray ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

smashed pennies
At work part of my job is to move railroad cars so I smashed some pennies to give out to my daughters and son-in-law to protect them in their travels. My great neice who is 3 years old was over for Sunday Dinner so I gave her one too and told her it would protect her in her travels. She forgot it and later that night her Mom Cindy called and told my wife that Faith needed to talk to her, she was almost crying and said she forgot her thing that would protect her in her travels. So my wife took it to her, good thing they only live about 3 miles from us. Moments like that are priceless. Mashed Pennies
Hey To All, While on a trip to Chicago last fall, I visited the American Girl Place with the ladies in our group, and Frank toured the Museum Of Science Industry with the guys. He got a mashed penny from there. I also have one from The Alamo in San Antonio Texas. I guess these aren't LUCKY though, since they weren't hit by lightning. I'll have to ask Johnny Paul Jason about that. Since those selfish Giraffe's often get hit by lightning, are they lucky? H, getting hit by lightning wouldn't make a body feel too lucky, would it? All kinds of thoughts
Hi Friends... Its so wonderful to be with you again. I have to THANK KEN for describing the old time gas stations. Air is sometimes even free..but ice is .25 a cup. and they rob you when it comes to vaccuming. I was reminded of my grandfather when he worked at the co-op gas station. And , how he used to sit on the stool and talk to folks. If we see things on Nick at nite and tv land that we dont like..as Mr. Rogers reminded his tv friends awhile back When you see something on tv that scares you or that you dont like you can always turn it OFF ( and watch something to your liking,) Thank you for reminding us the other sites that we can visit. ** I saw something I hadn't seen in YEARS a young boy was buying something and he was a penny or two short and the man behind him gave him the cents so he could buy his candy. I've seen cashiers do this but it made me long for days past. 10-4 good friends, Erin your midwest mocha momma - Sick sense of humor? Visit Yahoo! Smoker's Bulge
I know this is a knitpicky one, but a trained noticer can't help it. In the episode where Andy delivers the baby out at Sam Becker's house, you'll notice that Andy's shirt pocket is closed and flat against his chest until after the baby is delivered, and he decides to go out on the porch to have a smoke. Then his pocket flap is open, and he has the distinct bulge of a pack of smokes which evidently magically appeared in the pocket. Dave Strang Quite a deal. Correction on Newlywed
Well I jumped into the question too quickly about the character from Jailbreak who was a Newlywed I'm kinda like Barney sometimes I fire off my answer and then ask questions later. Upon further investigation Tom was asking about another favorite and frequent Guest actor. It was Bob McQuain. Another Fan
I was at a Gaither Homecoming concert last Friday night listening to some great gospel music when they got to one of the places they just fool around and have some fun. Anyway, Kevin Williams (the guitar player) was going on with Gordon Mote (the piano player). Kevin was doing something and told Gordon to play some, just anything, to fill the time. Gordon sat there for a few seconds then launched into The Ol' Fishing Hole. Did a full rendition of our favorite theme song much to the delight of everyone in the building. I guess it does say something that the TAGS theme can be played like that with no introduction and immediately, everybody knows what it is. dan ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Re: Allen Melvin
I'm afraid the Untrained Voice is incorrect about Allen Melvin playing the newlywed husband. The episode referred to was Jailbreak where Barney looks in on the newlywed couple smooching in their trailer parked at the Half Moon Trailer Park. The couple's name in the script is the Franklins. The actor is Bob McQuain who usually plays Joe Waters in at least 3 episodes, as well as other roles in the series. Mr. Schwamp From: GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: That was Allen Melvin And the newlywed husband - he has a recurring role in a lot of TAGS - but most all as a different character. I think he has been a couple of different police officers, a farmer, a prisoner (?). Trying to find out he is... tom Tom that was Allen Melvin You are correct he played 7-8 different roles (never a policeman I don't think) including a Marine Recruiter, a couple different Escaped Prisoners, a bully as a Vegetable Farmer and Fred Plummer (grocery employee) and former boyfriend of Millie, A Car Fraud accomplice (with Mrs. Lesch) and the one you mentioned.
