I have a request. I have had my tag for about 12 years now and I got a call
from a policeman in the state I live in Tuesday night. Seems that he and his
son have refurbished an old squad car but the one thing missing is the tag JL
327, which belongs to me. His son is going to drive the car

I have a couple of ideas. At one time, in about three or four episodes, the
squad car had DC-269 as a license plate. Also, when I was living in NC, a
friend had a squad car replica with AUNT BEE as the license plate.
Just a couple of thoughts. You'll come up with something very
JL-327 was the primary plate used on the show. But, I believe 'DC-269' was used
on three episodes. Can anyone confirm this?

License plates are issued in each state. So each state could come up with
their own TAGS related specialty plate but it has to pass a lot of stringent
tests with the states' guidelines. Most states have a limit on the number of
specialty plates. You'll never get all 50 states to issue the same
