Johnny U and the Colts
Don't forget on this Super Bowl XLI that Opie admired Johnny Unitas of the Baltimore Colts as mentioned in 'Opie Flunks Arithmetic', Don Knotts last episode as a cast regular. Johnny U. held that football on the end. The Super Bowl debuted during TAGS' seventh season. The Baltimore Colts were in Super Bowls III and V. They won Super Bowl V by a field goal in January 1971, the same time 'The New Andy Griffith Show' began. But sadly,before the 1971-1972 NFL season began, the CBS rural slaughter had already taken place. Brian Rodahaver One Of Maryland's Biggest TAGS Fans!!! Brian, I'm glad you as a Maryland guy brought that up. The modern Day Junny Unitas, of the Colts (Peyton Manning) really looks up to Jonny U, and he always avoids comparisons to his Idol Johnny Unitas...but he has many of the same atributes. So with Apologies to Baltimore, and their fine theam the Ravens, another Colts quarterback is playing who actually shares many Mayberry ideals. Color Episodes
/Many people talk about Andy changing in the color episodes. I even had this opinion. Recently I finished watching the three color seasons on DVD and I came to the realization that that idea was greatly exaggerated./ As Helen said regarding Aunt Bee, Clara, and Myrtle's trip to Mexico, Sometimes a few unfortunate incidents can color one's whole outlook! hi all i have been busy up here at the big house but just got season 5 on dvd, i am really enjoying it. however.. when i saw the first discs i was abit startled with the artwork . andy and barney standing behind the desk and i think its goober sittin at the desk.. well whoever it is he is tensed is it in fact goober ?or am i lookin at it through mulberry squeezin eyrs... thanks , big maude still at the big house That feller is none other than Ernest T. Many people talk about Andy changing in the color episodes. I even had this opinion. Recently I finished watching the three color seasons on DVD and I came to the realization that that idea was greatly exaggerated. Andy rarely got mad in the color seasons. As a matter of fact, Andy was more laid back and less involved in the color seasons than in the black and white ones. There were many more episodes that focused on Aunt Bee, Opie, Howard, and Goober. Also, having recently watched it, I can't think of a single time in the eighth season where Andy gets angry. So, I just thought I'd throw in my two cents on this idea that has become common among many fans and say that I don't think it's accurate. Indiana Get-together
Hi Everyone, Thought our WBMUTBB online Mayberry family would enjoy seeing some photo's of their kin here in Indiana. We came together from all over the state plus our Mary and her hubby Dan that drove over from Illinois. We had one of the sweetest and fun times we'd all had in ages, and just wanted to share the pictures from that day with you...
