While on the subject of smoking, on what episode was there a reference
to marijuana?
Quiet Sam. Barney was concerned that Sam might be planting marijuana since he
was tilling soil and doing crop work in the dark. I guess it sounded better

The actor was Larry Hovis who played the man who's car was in the jail. The
marijuana reference was in the episode about silent Sam.

Arte Johnson, Andy and Barney in the Big City, as the hotel desk clerk.
Larry Hovis (Goober Takes a Car Apart and The Case of the Punch in the
Nose) was also a LAUGH-IN regular, at the same time he was working on HOGAN'S
HEROES.

Ron Howard played Seth, Jason's friend
Watching one of my favorite movies tonight, Dave (with Kevin Kline and
Sigourney Weaver) when I spotted Mayor Stoner (Parley Baer) playing a
politician. And would you believe it.the president knew his name. He
didn't even have to spell it for him.

Knotts must have been quite the smoker in real life. I have the Don Knotts
autobiography, and nowhere in it does Don mention that he has the smoking
habit, but if you watch the TAGS episode where Gomer takes Barney's
