On Wednesday's MeTV Perry Mason, there were a plethora of TAGS alumni.
The main character was Briscoe Darling.The Judge was Chuck O'Malley.The
murderer was Malcolm Tucker.Also appearing, even though she did not serve
any Chicken-Ala-King was Irene Tedrow (Mrs. Foster).
Four different alumni appeared in today's Adam-12 episodes. In the first one
Buddy Foster appeared and in the second one Jon Lormer, Irene Tedrow, and Helen
Kleeb appeared.

While watching "My Three Sons" on Thursday morning I noticed the Taylor
house.
Jean Pearson (Mike's high school girlfriend) was visiting her grandmother
in Bryant Park.
The grandmother lived in the Taylor house.
The porch furniture was the same as on TAGS and so was the bushes out front.

On another note, I recently received my dvd of the TAGS Christmas Special from
2015. The dvd includes the special itself, the Christmas Story

for a short time on Turner Classic Movies.They were playing that famous
Cary Grant movie "North By Northwest". When I got there they were having an

Watching the "Twilight Zone" last night on MeTV, there was Jean (Daphne)
Carson playing the wife of a crook in a pretty good episode called "A Most
Unusual Camera" - a couple years before appearing on TAGS.
Then, while listening to an NPR segment about the role of sheriffs in
America, the host
On TCM this past Saturday, they showed The Day the Earth Stood Still and I

Another passing note, today (August 23), is the 91st birthday of TAGS favorite
manicurist. Even at 91 she is still being done well by Mother Nature.

Early Monday morning on Turner Classic Movies, I was watching a movie
called "Skyscraper Souls". It was a very old movie made in 1932.In the
movie I spotted Wallace Ford, AKA Roger Hanover. All during the movie he was

Last night, I watched a very good episode of "The Twilight Zone" titled
"BacK There", about a man who somehow goes back in time and tries to stop
Lincoln's assassination. The Washington D.C. police desk sergeant, with
huge mutton-shop sideburns, was none other than Paul Hartman a/k/a Emmett
Clark.
I forgot to post this last weekend. Ernest T. appeared on Love Boat as a
washed-up comedian. He did a short stint onstage and was united with a
show-biz dog that was heartwarming. He had aged somewhat but still just
as good in delivery and movement.

neighbor, Millie, who was Ella, the local newspaper reporter in Season 8's

The other day on Turner Classic Movies they showed the Lucllle Ball / Henry
Fonda film "Yours, Mine, and Ours". The girls were sitting around the
dining room table in a scene and one of them looked really familiar, and I
was sure I had seen her on TAGS. Turns out, it was Suzanne Cupito/Morgan

Watching a Season 2 episode of M.A.S.H. ("The Trial of Henry Blake"), there
was Clara Edwards, playing a nurse running a clinic in Korea. And the guy
playing the general in charge of the court-martial looked familiar from
TAGS too, so I looked him up: Robert Simon, who played Mr. Crawford, the
Early this morning I was watching Antenna TV.The Burns and Allen show
was on. The Burns hired a plumber, and you will never guess who it was.
Our own Floyd the Barber. This show was in 1957, so I guess Floyd was a

was great in a very funny role. The episode was filmed in 1963, the same

Just finished watching a very good episode of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and
there was Doris Packer (Mrs. Wiley), playing basically the same role she
did in TAGS one year later - a hostess at a party (although a lot fancier
one than the one in Mayberry). But then there was another familiar face
from
Saturday afternoon on MeTV, I was watching "Wanted Dead Or Alive".There
were a couple of bounty hunters on the show that arrested the Mayor like Barney
arrested Mayor Pike.But these two bounty hunters not only arrested the
Mayor, they killed him.
But getting back to the Alumni
This past weekend on TCM I watched, for the first time, John Ford's
underrated film "The Last Hurrah", starring Spencer Tracy in a great role.
There were a lot of familiar faces in the film, but one in particular
caught my attention right away: Willis Bouchey, who was in 4 TAGS episodes

The other day, I was watching an episode of "Perry Mason" from Season 1,
and immediately recognized an alumni from Season 1 of TAGS: William
Schallert a/k/a "Quiet Sam". In Perry Mason, he played an assistant to a
wealthy, nasty guy and he ended up in trouble for being an accomplice to
murder -
I bought a western on bluray called Horizons West from 1952 and saw Francis
Bavier(Aunt Bee). She played the mother of Robert Ryan and Rock Hudson who
were returning home to Texas from the Civil War.

Watched a classic "Twilight Zone" episode last night - "The Grave",
starring Lee Marvin. One of the main supporting actors was James Best a/k/a
Jim Lindsey, the Guitar Player - who was also strumming a guitar in a
saloon scene. The episode aired in 1961, the year after James appeared in
TAGS -
Saw Aneta Corsaut(Helen Crump)on TCM last night in The Blob with Steve
McQueen. What was interesting was Ben Mankiewicz closing comments after the
movie where he said Corsaut was best known as playing Helen Crump, " the
prettiest girl in Mayberry. " I don't think so.
This shows how little

voice. It was none other than our Mayor Pike (a/k/a Dick Elliott), 20 years

While watching The Waltons on Friday noticed two alumni from TAGS.
The episode was called The Remembrance, season 8 episode 18, 1980.
Woodrow Chambliss who played Orville Hendricks and Harlan Robinson on
TAGSplayed Zadok Walton. Knew who it was by his voice. He had a beard
and long white hair.
Tuesday night on Inspiration TV they played a 30 minute Gunsmoke show called
"Never Pester Chester". One of the men in the show was Orville Hendricks.
I looked it up on IMDB, and Woodrow Chambliss appeared on Gunsmoke 38 times,
this one being the first.

On Peter Gunn s1/ep28 "A Slight Touch of Homicide" our own Floyd went around
blowing up gangsters. He had the same mannerism. When Peter Gunn went to his
house and started down the basement he did a double take of a picture on the

Just watched "The Twilight Zone" episode "Mr. Bevis", which I've seen a
number of times. But, until tonight, I didn't notice that Mr. Bevis's
landlady was Otis's wife. When I looked her up on IMDB, the actress,
Dorothy Neumann, had quite a career, spanning almost 50 years, in many
popular TV
Flipping thru the channels yesterday afternoon, I came upon a rare
alumni sighting. On a 1949 episode of the Lone Ranger, there sat Aunt
Bee knitting in a rocking chair looking much the same as she did on
Mayberry. Alas, she was portraying a naughty gal as the aunt of some bad
guys, totally
I just saw an episode of Trackdown, an old western I'm not familiar with. In
the episode I saw, first Old Ben Weaver is fighting in the street with another
guy. Then later, he's murdered by Mayor Stoner. Funny thing, old Ben was a
former Mayor, but was the same type of character as in TAGS.
Saw Howard’s mother on Dragnet. Turned out to be the killer!
Almost as disturbing as Aunt Bee on the Lone Ranger as the leader of an outlaw
gang.

Alumni SightingLast night I noticed Otis playing a jovial drunk into The
Apartment, with Jack Lemmon, Shirley McClain and Fred McMurray. Its a 1960
classic with a wee bit of drama and a poetic ending. I highly recommend it if
