[libreoffice-website] Libo4 Pages: new version 20130213
Hi *, I have uploaded a new version: vm13.documentfoundation.org/40test/deliv_20130213/ @Florian : we have included most of your modifications, but we may have missed some of them. As mentionned in an earlier mail, it would be better not to add a base tag, that would break IE support. This version should work nicely on smartphones, but there is a problem when switching back from mobile to desktop format (happens when you de-maximize, remaximize your window.) Considering this, I'm not sure if it should be put in production, but wanted to show you that actually, things are getting better. We still have dial-up users out there and 3 or 5 MB size files could take a few minutes to download for these users. Many of these users are in areas of the world that rarely seen any broad band access, or it is not affordable. Just wanted to ask. [libreoffice-website] Some of more feedback for the new main homepage
Hi all, I have somewhat mixed feelings about the new libreoffice.org homepage ... but I don't want to go into any of that too much, as I didn't work on it at all and the new page is a marked improvement over the old one. Instead, I'd like to ask for a few small things that should be easy remedy: #1 Add outline: none; and some :hover/:active effect to the CSS of the ‹ and › buttons – the first one to remove the ugly whole-page outline around the right button, e.g. in Firefox; the second to overcome the accessibility/visibility bug we just created. #2 Make the page sliding animation faster – slow animations draw attention to themselves, fast ones help the user navigate. I think the animation is still in the first group. #3 Use a non-condensed font, e.g. regular Open Sans. The current font is pretty hard to read, especially on the Discover it page. #4 Don't rotate the Download LibreOffice now! text – it's a nice effect, but most people's font rendering/screens are terrible at displaying it. Thanks, Astron.
