Re: [libreoffice-website] CMS decision: Silverstripe

(I'd like to work on the information architecture for the two separate sites, but won't be able to have it ready in time for next week, unfortunately.) If I remember correct, it has been said that at the moment the TDF can stay on static pages and we will do the more user-focused LO-pages in the cms. Hi, Marc Paré wrote on 2010-10-28 21.08: I would favour different sites, a TDF site which for now would be more of a static site and the LibO site ... well ... it is pretty hot and active right now. It seems to make sense for free up the TDF from the LibO and then it can later undertake more projects with LibO under its wing. the Silverstripe site should be for libreoffice.org, so it's more community and product related, rather than TDF related. :-) Florian -- Florian Effenberger flo...@documentfoundation.org Steering Committee and Founding Member of The Document Foundation Tel: +49 8341 99660880 | Mobile: +49 151 14424108 Skype: floeff | Twitter/Identi.ca: @floeff -- E-mail to website+h...@libreoffice.org for instructions on how to unsubscribe List archives are available at http://www.libreoffice.org/lists/website/ All messages you send to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

Re: [libreoffice-website] CMS decision: Silverstripe
Hi Andrea, Von: Andrea Pescetti pesce...@openoffice.org An: website@libreoffice.org I haven't seen details, but this seems a sensible decision. This will give us the time to prepare a compelling Drupal infrastructure. I'm sure, we have the people here to come up with something that really rocks - but this needs time (we all know this). Happy to see your enthusiasm. But - I even see, that silverstripe might be a long term solution for some of our teams. My experience from OOo is, that no matter how good your solution is, there will always be someone who has another opinion (which is also valid). ...and then if the Steering Committee decides not to migrate we will just fork again! (I'm joking, of course). Oh - you should check the last couple of minutes from the voice recording. Forking was actually a suggestion :) (but ment as joke as well ;) ) -- GMX DSL Doppel-Flat ab 19,99 euro;/mtl.!
