you, I am looking for input.
I am looking for issues you did not anticipate after privacy was implemented,
interesting scenario's that have come up, issues in dealing with non-covered entities,
etc.
Any issues and suggestions will be appreciated!
Thanks

the patient informed the individual. For the
majority of items, this should not be an issue - but if the person is picking a Rx for
pain meds, etc, you might want to verify with the patient.
Hope this helps,

Address for Filing Complaints
Now that the address has been provided to us, do providers have to supply
the exact address to patients for complaints?

FYI - this was published in the yesterday's Federal Register and provides addresses
for filing complaints under the privacy regulations:

Kelli - Look at
page 16 of the OCR clarification document dated December 3, 2002. This should
answer your question - this follows under reasonableness.

f a health care provider - there is
a mention in HIPAA for the Federal definition, and it is fairly all
encompassing. Generally speaking, I do not think the majority of these
vendors would be business associates.

Vikas - I would consider this part of treatment - as a result, a BAC would
not be required.

Bonnie - I can only speak from an Indiana perspective - we have a regulation
in the state regs governing release of information to divorced parents. I
am not aware of anything in the Federal regs - you might want to search the
respective state regulations.

Subject: R
- the rule requires that the notice be posted in a
publicly viewable area, etc. I really don't think HHS expects an ambulance
to have the notice taped to the inside of the ambulance. Thoughts??
Thanks
