One point : if you have the "Connected. Waiting for data." message, this indicates that the websockets connection is successful. If no further data is received, this may indicate that the expected topic "weather/loop" is not existing. You may try to use a software such as mqtt explorer

Thank you for the feedback. I changed "localhost" to the IP of the MQTT broker as suggested. It did not fix it ... As far as I understand that section is for uploading weewx data to the mqtt broker. That part works well as I can read the weather with an mqtt client. It is the Belchertown skin
