Does different browsers read the leading spaces and line differently? Shouldn't
all the browsers should function the same way? The attachment shows how
different browses act.

[Bug 22456] New: Subpropertyof has as an error in file SMW_LanguageFr.php

   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Semantic MediaWiki
AssignedTo: mar...@semantic-mediawiki.org
ReportedBy: tulipvor...@synaptique.ca

This is not a simple translation problem since there's no Mediawiki message to
fix this. The only way to fix this is by modifying SMW_LanguageFr.php.

I'm discussing about it on :

http://fr.guildwars2.wikia.com/wiki/Discussion_utilisateur:DaNASCAT

It's show a capture of the line where is the problem. Line 62.

The problem is the character "^" just after "Sous" that should not be there.

You can test it on :

http://fr.guildwars2.wikia.com/wiki/Attribut:Test

To find where was the problem i downloaded the last version of the extension
from SourceForge (1.4.3).

Thanks !

It turns out that this is possible through the new LocalisationCache system.

Tim confirms that adding $namespaceNames = array( 'en' => array( index => name
) ); will resolve this bug satisfactorily.

I'm not sure, however, what the state of translatewiki.net support is. I've
chucked siebrand and nikerabbit on CC, to see if such information would be at
least left in place during translatewiki.net imports.

Cf the similar bug 959. As pointed out in comment #33, trying to check for full
RFC compliance is both difficult and unnecessary.

However, it's been pointed out that some simple sanity checks (length,
obviously bogus characters) could at least be applied.

[Bug 20602] Navigable TOC: Wikitext in section titles not parsed

2010-02-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20602

--- Comment #4 from Trevor Parscal 2010-02-10 00:04:10
UTC ---
There are so many levels in which solving this sort of thing could fail, it's
just not worth it at this point.

Another bug along these lines would be "headings created by templates are not
shown".

The thing is, wikitext is horrible as it is, with very loose and sometimes
inconsistent rules which are defined by a particular implementation of a parser
which has yet to be successfully ported to another language without skipping
over large functional areas.

So, in short, no, this will not be fixed until serious wikitext reform is
achieved and a JavaScript wikitext parser is built.

To clarify: this means the cursor position always goes to the end of the
inserted text no matter what? We don't wanna select inserted example text?

That's not really an exception, right? The line break is part of the inserted
text, after all.

Our previous behavior was to select "Insert footnote here" in this case. But
right now you want the cursor to go after as well, correct?

[Bug 22453] New: {{int}} template call partially uses content language rather than user language

   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Internationalization
AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: d...@ucsc.edu

The issue comes up when you want to get a localized message from the api that
includes parser logic.

For example:
http://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=parse&uselang=wa&text={{int:undelete_short|0}}&format=json

returns: Rapexhî 0 candjmints

wa language uses singular form for zero, so the proper transformation per
uselang should be:
Rapexhî on candjmint

It should certainly not be a mix of the "wa" language key with the "English"
plural parser logic.

There are two possible solutions that I see:
1) We use "uselang" language instead of wgContentLang when doing action=parse.
This could add a check at the api level for uselang and override wgContentLang.
or
2) We could have a separate api entry point for localizations with transforms (
ie extend the meta=allmessages entry point with msg arguments. Avoiding the
action=parse and {{int}} hack all together.

[Bug 5004] Keep the pipe trick ([[Piped link|]]) syntax in wikitext instead of converting it at pre-save transform

UTC ---
Created an attachment (id=7093)
 --> (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=7093)
A patch to fix this

I am not comfortable with fixing this myself, it seems like a very drastic
change for very little benefit (particularly now the pipe trick works during
normal parsing too).

While the usabiltiy concern that it might be less easy to read the wikitext if
the pipe trick is left, was countered by the argument that then people would
find out about the pipe trick sooner, and thus increase productivity.

The other downside is the possibility that this will cause problems for
consumers and future parsers of wikitext, who have to reimplement the pipe
trick for themselves; particularly if they are not expecting to find unexpanded
links in the source. At the moment, having it in both places allows templates
to work using the "in-parse" mode, while normal pages (and thus normal
consumers) will always see the expanded version.

As it seems there is an overwhelming amount of support for removing as much as
possible from the PST, I have attached a trivial patch to fix this issue.
(anyone applying it will need to upgrade the parser tests that it breaks)

In the case of database error, there is the setting $wgShowSQLErrors which
controls whether or not the SQL message is shown.

However, the error from the database is always shown, regardless. This
potentially gives away a lot about the database (including hostname) and it
should not be displayed.

That's because you pasted it in the wrong place. The code thedj inserted on
enwiki is context-sensitive and can't just be thrown in anywhere.

Because dewiki doesn't override insertTags, it'll have to wait for a similar
fix to edit.js to be deployed. This'll hopefully happen today.

Here's a new patch against the current trunk (r62177). It works well for me,
and other patches I build will rely on it.

Now preferences have been backported, I can't see the error you referred to
with the OpenID menu. Can you test again, Sergey?

[Bug 22449] New: MediaWiki should do validation of e-mail addresses

2010-02-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22449

Summary: MediaWiki should do validation of e-mail addresses
   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: minor
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Email
AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: m...@nedworks.org

Currently MediaWiki doesn't seem to verify e-mail addresses entered by users,
seeing as many e-mails get sent with addresses that don't even have an
apostrophe (@). These e-mails go lost or end up in the wrong places without the
user ever receiving a warning, as the mails cannot be bounced either.

MediaWiki should be doing a (better) job at verifying e-mail addresses. Ideally
using a fully RFC2822 address checker with MX record verification, but we could
at least check if the address contains an apostrophe.

That's for installing CharInsert, which happened years ago. The setting that
does need to be changed is in MediaWiki:Edittool.js ; this happened on English

Possibly caused by the ability to suppress redirects on move leaving, which
leaves no page at the old title without having to delete it. The RC entries are
still there, which NewPages uses.

Unfortunately, the encoding fixes that thedj wrote didn't fix this. However,
with some better error handling and a little JS, we should be all good now.

FIXED!

As per http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CharInsert there should be a
setting to be done in LocalSettings.php file. Appreciate if you can let me know
whether it's done at the server end.

Yes, you are not able to zoom out... as the page is set for a certain size and
that's the size you get. If you load up an image fully, then you can zoom all
you want.

Currently, the device's default requested language is the automatic
redirect to skip the need for the "puzzle globe" stage. If your phone
is configured for French, then it will load fr.m.*

Unfortunately, no one has volunteered to help support the iDEN OS phones. So,
until someone is able to develop for that phone or wants to work on the styles,
we'll have to mark this ticket as invalid.

Please feel free to contact Motorola and let them know that they should help us
develop for their phones. :)
