Accumulate the output of the resource loader in a variable instead of in the

I think the works for me is not an adequate resolution for an error that
seems to affect a handful of users and not at all all the others.

E.g. It doesn't work for me (user:bdamokos) at all on the Hungarian Wikipedia -

reproduce the problem on all the browsers (Chrome, FF 3.6.3) and Operating

2010-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #2 from FT2 ft2.w...@gmail.com 2010-09-17 14:37:36 UTC ---
I previously added bug 23788 for an almost identical request:

Revision size and revision bytes change are _both_ extremely useful, giving a
good quick idea of a page's history or a user's pattern of contributing,
especially on talk pages where size change helps to visually identify
reductions in page size, often signs of vandalism, removal of comments,
archiving, etc which are of interest.

I'd like to see page size as SIZE bytes (+/-CHANGE) on both contribs and
history. A revision that is 1 bytes in size and a reduction of 100 bytes
from the previous revision would be shown as 1 bytes (-100) with the -100
in bold red for visual ease.

Also some kind of higher visibility tag, like a symbol next to the byte field,
for larger additions/removals (say 400 bytes?). It can be useful to quickly
see the key points in a talk or project page history where significant
additions or removals happened, and in a user's contributions which edits were
of that kind.

[Bug 25202] New: Merge config script tag with load+go script tag

I'm currently seeing this in my page source:

scriptmediaWiki.config.set(...);/script
scriptif ( mediaWiki !== undefined ) { mediaWiki.loader.load( ... );
mediaWiki.loader.go(); }/script

Seems kinda ridiculous to me. The config.set() call should be merged into the
bottom one and also be inside the if ( mediaWiki !== undefined ) block.

Please read the code that generates this...

http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/includes/OutputPage.php?view=markup#l2352

You will see that while I want to combine them, Skin::makeGlobalVariablesScript
returns a complete script tag, not just JavaScript code. We will need to go
deeper into the treacherous depths of MediaWiki to fix this - it was outside
the scope of an already huge set of changes, so I skipped it at the time.

There is a message There is currently no text in this page. You can search
 for
this page title in other pages, or search the related logs. where search
 the
related logs leads you to the proper log.

That is right, but it is better to show the log directly, with a message like:
This page has been protected from creation. The protect log for the page is
provided below for reference.

Show noarticletext-nopermission when the user cannot create any page/talkpage,
but remove the loglink from the message, because in the case the loglink is
helpful the message above is shown.

Currently, mw-fr-watchlist-pending-notice is rendered as a part of the
sitenotice. Someone who browses normal Wikipedia articles and gets annoyed with
the sitenotice doesn't need to know that clicking hide button they're also
hiding some completely different text on a completely different page.

So either put the mw-fr-watchlist-pending-notice in some other way on the page
or create separate hide button and an extra cookie for it.

MediaWiki isn't really designed for this level of permissions granularity, so
probably no one wants to bother fixing this. Someone (not me) might be willing
to review patches if you're willing to write them.

It appears to stop giving correct byte offsets after encountering the first
header made using h1 (or h2, h3, etc) syntax instead of the normal ==header==
syntax.

[Bug 25205] New: Automate generation of fundraiser tracking data, long term storage, and data mining

2010-09-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25205

Summary: Automate generation of fundraiser tracking data, long
term storage, and data mining
   Product: Wikimedia
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: General/Unknown
AssignedTo: ngau...@wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: tf...@wikimedia.org

Currently we generate stats on locke to one landingpage or banner impressions
file. Then someone has to rsync it for long term archive storage on dataset.
After, we have to run the appropriate mining script and ship the fundraiser
data.

Lets automate this.

We'll need to setup a regular job that pulls a specific set of log files from
locke to dataset1. Then a cron job can kick off at a specific point in time
(say 30min post fundraiser) that will email the fundraisers with a csv version
of the data.

[Bug 25206] New: Add regex support to ContributionTrackingStats page

Status: NEW

 Component: ContributionReporting

Current we have to white list all the banners present on
http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Special:ContributionTrackingStatistics
within wgAllowedTemplates ex. http://pastebin.com/yyB4stnf

It'd be nice to either have central notice return a list or all possible
banners or match on a regex.
