So you would see that unwanted select-block above and below the minus sign in the most-left column in your example. @Derk-Jan Hartman: The height is skin-specific, and should match each ckin, that means 1.5em for the modern (sans-serif based) skins and 1em for the classic (serif based) skins. So that is not an ideal solution. Just like the pagename/filename isn't inside the wikitext. Things like author and license information (and categories too actually, but that's a different story) make sense to be stored seperately. Advantage of keeping it outside of wikitext is also that history of the page-text will stay cleaner and changing or renaming a license is a lot easier since they'd be stored as id's instead of template links. I'd guess things like licenses would then be stored in the License:-namespace or in [MediaWiki:License-id-descr] and [MediaWiki:License-id-content], which may or may not contain a template. This is also related to the UsabilityInitiative I think. One of their ideas (not sure if it's choosen as the plan) was to seperate this making it (the license) into a dropdown when editing (just like when uploading it) - and that licences not in the dropdown, can't be used. This is about the syntaxhighlight tag with lang=latex. As can be seen on the
English Wikipedia page for LaTeX, and on the test page linked to in the URL
field, the syntax highlighting breaks if you have a tag with an empty
parameter. The syntax highlighter thinks that the parameter list hasn't
finished, and formats the rest of the text as a parameter list until it next
encounters a closing brace.
The example of this that is causing problems is the \LaTeX{} tag, which has
empty braces afterwards to prevent LaTeX from swallowing the following space.

normalize space to underscore in SpecialPage::resolveAlias
A alias with space cannot be resolved by that method, because the aliases
internally stored with underscore, not spaces. So the method should normalize
spaces to underscore to find all special pages.
This affected {{#special:}}.

Whats wrong with {{urlencode:{{#special:Foo. I understand the rationale
behind really common variables like {{PAGENAME}} having {{PAGENAMEE}}
equivelents, but for something like {{#special:}} thats barely ever used in
itself, whats the point (read usecase)?

(aka [[Anamorphic format]] ) This sounds like an issue on your end (aka you should disable whatever software is doing that), so I'm closing the bug as invalid.
