This will include account creation and uploading pictures on commons as a part of Wikipedia takes Pune outreach event. We are expecting about 30-50 people to attend. One of the things we'd like to do is encourage potential new editors to create their own usernames during the session and upload pictures of Pune they have clicked. The first file revision is then deleted. The file is now renamed (moved) to New.jpg: the deleted page history is moved to the new title, but the deleted file itself is not. And before you knew it, we were shelling out to imagemagick and diff3 to put all kinds of version numbers in that little table. It is a slippery slippery slope :) We could maybe add only versions of the code that the users load/use/execute directly (what is there besides JS?) and leave all back-end dependencies hidden? jQuery can throw errors directly to the user and custom JavaScript depends on it so again what users do is directly affected by it, unlike category sorting, diffs, image scaling and so on. As I recall. I lost interest in this after changes to cite.php which had not gone through bugzilla addressed some parts of what this does and produced a new cite.php version which would probably require some rework of this code to restore compatibility with the newly feepeling creatureized code. I have tested this on a lucid and precise instance each. Lucid mounts the directory almost instantly when changing the working directory to the stated directory. However, on a precise instance, it shows an opposing result. Changing the working directory to it takes very long, before it finally exits with a failure saying the destination server took too long to respond. Not sure if its a firewall issue, or a precise-based issue that is blocking the access. Can someone please look into this? The reason it doesn't work on Wikisource is because those header/footer textareas are created *afterwards* with javascript, which means they don't have any events bound. I don't think this ever reliably worked, it must've been a coincidence (whichever executed first). Is there are reason for these to be split up in the front-end instead of the backend? Apparently we need to ensure the mount is always mounted with -o vers=3. Neither of which are related to content, only style. Accessibility related applications that still don't understand CSS, can't be taken seriously. And even if someone would disagree with that statement, its pointless. The vast majority of layout is already CSS-only (and has been for over almost a decade). So for whatever accessibility related software that doesn't understand CSS, a couple of align=center and valign=top attributes here and there are the least of its worries. Nobody was talking about any software not understanding CSS, but about inline styles. So again: *inline styles* are key accessibility problem. I don't think there is really a reason for these to be split up in the
front-end instead of the backend: I believe that the code have been written
before the introduction of the ability to override cleanly the editform and has
never been rewrite after.
This rewriting is on my TODO list but I don't know when I'll have time to do
it.
It might be a good idea to write at the same time a new content storage system
using ContentHandler in order to move from:
noincludepagequality level=3 user=Billinghurst /div

CONTENT
noincludeFOOTER/noinclude
to something like:
