I understand that the implementation issues with JavaScript described in
http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/design/2014-January/001357.html were
solved, so it's "just" a matter of
* reducing code duplication perhaps, 100+ lines sounds suboptimal and there
should be a WebAPI module to ask MediaWiki how a string will be
acccepted/rejected/transformed by the wiki;
* tweaking the display, from a warning to a username preview:
right? If yes please file bugs for the followups.

Images which exceed the megapixel limit still display the preview links under
the preview in the image description page: "Size of this preview: 495 × 599
pixels. Other resolutions: 198 × 240 pixels | 396 × 480 pixels | 496 × 600
pixels | 634 × 768 pixels | 846 × 1,024 pixels | 7,258 × 8,785 pixels."

Since clicking any of these will only result in an error message since
MediaWiki is unable to create the preview, the option should be hidden.

The link above should answer (and confirm what you wrote in comment 2) your
first question and yes it is in the 'diff' link. As for my watchlist
preferences it is 7 days and a maximum of 250 changes with the following
advanced options checked.

* Add pages and files I edit to my watchlist
* Add pages and files I move to my watchlist
* Add pages I create and files I upload to my watchlist
* Watch threads that I create or reply to

is a high-resolution TIFF file which is above the current megapixel limit for
rendering thumbnails.

As a result, image description pages just render a large broken thumbnail
image, but do not communicate to the user what the problem is. In particular,
since this is how the image will always render due to its large resolution, not
a temporary issue, the design could be improved so it is not so confusing to
the user (and so it is clearer that they can download the original file if
desired).

Where certain file formats (like TIFF, SVG, PNG, etc.) also offer
full-resolution "previews" in a more user-friendly (and browser-friendly)
format like JPG, we should be making this more obvious to the users who might
want to download/view that instead of the original file. Right now, the
prominent link is to "Original file". During a Commons Village Pump discussion
Jean-Fred mocked up how we could make this option more visible to the users,
with a "Full Resolution in JPEG" link of equivalent size and placement as the
"Original file" link currently is.

If PHP did a longjmp() out of a signal handler, as in a request timeout, and
wmerrors somehow failed to detect the situation, then this could happen.
luasandbox_timer_destroy() could be interrupted by the signal and then
re-entered during request shutdown. If this is what happened, there may
possibly be a correlated syslog line when the deadlock began.

Apart from the request being made to load the resources a request[1] is made
every time a user hovers over a link, this request is aborted if the mouse
moves elsewhere. Amongst other things the API call also requests for a 300px
thumbnail using the PageImages extension. All successful requests are cached[2]
in JavaScript.

In either case, there is no visible color when the user is not hovering, so
this should not be too attention-grabbing.

However, with destructive, it will highlight red when they hover, to reinforce
that they will lose their unsaved changes.

We might also want to change the text to 'Discard changes' at that point,
although that might be overly attention-grabbing (not sure).

This also applies when closing out the Media Viewer using the "X" instead of
going back in the browser.

Close the image with X, returns to article. Press back on the browser, and
you're back on the media image, /not/ the previous webpage you were visiting.
This isn't desirable. I don't think it merits a new bug report since solving
how histories are handled might take care of the issue. If not, I'll file a new
bug for that specifically.

Every few days a group of Apache threads on a random box will lock up with the
stack trace below. Need to find out what is dying in a semaphore-protected code
block somewhere.

No obvious periodic cycle that I've noticed, and not confined to specific
boxes. No real site impact either, but sometimes the threads have uncommitted
DB transactions which is troublesome for locks and stuff.

Anyway, things shouldn't just freeze up :)

For linking to a specific log entry.  If a user has performed many actions on a
page, it may be difficult to find a link to give for a specific entry (and to
not display any others).

For the other proposed feature, I think it would be much easier to just have a
"frozen" link for the current list of log entries than to have to find the
timestamp and manually add it to the query string.
Specific example: Maybe you want to show when a steward has locked or done
other actions in a specific time frame. You could look for the timestamp of the
latest action and use offset param (e.g.,
https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/globalauth/Vituzzu&dir=prev&offset=20140117123451),
or there could just be a link that does this for you.

There should be additional cookies being set here: centralauth_Token,
centralauth_Session, probably forceHTTPS, and also enwikiUserID and
enwikiUserName.

The one Set-Cookie header here looks weird too. Why the additional ";
GeoIP=v4; path=/" after the cookie?

I bet this has something to do with the new GeoIP stuff they did recently, it
smells like their code is screwing up any existing Set-Cookie headers in the
response.

This is partly the same as bug 61786 (the image HTML generated by Parsoid is
different from PHP parser output), but there are additional problems for video
links.

For both [[File:Sequence-Test.ogv]] and [[ File:Sequence-Test.ogv|thumb]] in a
Flow post, the links to the video are an invalid . The HTML doesn't include a  tag, just
an  tag. The full-size video uses the original .ogv file as the src of the
nested image tag, which obviously doesn't work, while the thumb video correctly
uses the Sequence-Test.ogv.jpg thumbnail.

Furthermore, the resulting HTML doesn't seem to trigger the
MwEmbedSupport/TimedMediaHandler RL modules that add player controls and such
to the video. Maybe those look for  or the 
tag.

O VisualEditor team, do you have CSS and JS that make Parsoid video HTML work?

When trying to obtain all recent changes, but suppressing anon users, the
following query fails:

But adding "user" to rcprop, causes it to work correctly:

No idea why, but hopefully those repro steps will help someone knowledgeable to
fix this? Contact me anytime for more info or more work on repro steps / bug
