In effect, this leads to very many Wikidata items needlessly lacking labels in many languages as the labels are simply not getting set. I think you should be able to set the label from Wikipedia when you link a page there to a Wikidata item. For instance, you could get an input box pre-filled with the article title and a checkbox that asks something to the effect of "Would you like to also set the label for the corresponding Wikidata item?" (whether or not such a checkbox should be checked by default is a good question. I don't see how that follows. A naive user doesn't know "no value" exists, so why would he be expected to program for such (in templates)?
To which users are you referring, out of curiosity?
I'm referring to users of English Wikipedia. As you can see from this search result, existing uses of the Property parser function there generally assume that it will return an actual value (and sometimes even assume it is a linkable value).
And in mainspace, the link ones are an obvious issue, but c.f. my first comment; for non-link ones, I see nil issue in providing "no value" to the usually-consuming template. And besides, I might suggest that where the output is a negative output (as in, "no value" inside a link), the user will appropriately remove those uses of the property. Additionally, assuming "no value" should output in that case as "" will not fix the problem; a "[[]]" in the source is still an issue producing weird behavior (though I haven't checked to see if MediaWiki collapses that to an empty string or still outputs an or what).
But maybe I'm assuming that users should have to monitor their pages for changes in Wikidata which may or may not be beneficial and which may change the output (sometimes significantly)? We have issues with that regardless though, dragging the clients' users' collective feet to care about the Wikidata.

Could you specify which browser (including version) and OS you are using? And when this happens again, could you check the _javascript_ console for errors (and if any post them here). Psychoslave added a comment. What I understand is that this first phase will "only" be a page name correspondence. So I guess that the answer to my question should be no. Indeed, translation entries require more work on the structured data, as it will require at least a "context" attribute which provides to specify in which situation the translation holds. Also, I'm not completely sure that such a translation correspondence is transitive, that is, if in a given context if we have language 0, 1, 2 lexemes L₀, L₁, L₂ L₀ is translatable to L₁ for a given context identifier L₁ is translatable to L₂ in the same context identifier Then do we always have L₀ which can be translated to L₂ for he same context identifier? I must admit that I lake expertise on this.
