  I should also mention that Roy17's second interpretation is correct: the 
feature displays articles that do not have a Wikidata description, and asks 
users to write their own description based on the article. So in this case, 
Leofreitasa has unfortunately misinterpreted the article when writing a

  Hi @Multichill - this feature has been active for several months, and has 
already undergone extensive testing. It seems like the vast majority of edits 
you have reverted were done by one user, Guccio G., who will now lose access to 
the feature because their edits have been reverted.
  
  As you can see from this chart, the revert rate of Wikidata descriptions 
added through the Suggested Edits feature is far lower than the background rate:

  We appreciate your point about the capitalisation on the other edit you 
mention, and have spoken with @Lydia_Pintscher about the best way to remedy

  I'm all for new features, but this one I had to rollback edits like

and the suggested edits like

 don't even follow https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Description .
  
  Please disable the feature ASAP and just enable it on test first so it can be 
properly tested.

  Basically because the resetPassword.php maint script can't find "admin" 
account (became case sensitive?), it fails, I commented it out to see if

  Depends. Losing two hosts in the same cluster in the same datacenter would be 
a huge issue. But we could temporarily borrow a node between clusters (e.g. 
internal -> public) if such thing happens. Also, we should be adding one host 
for the public cluster shortly (we want to do it regardless of anything else) 
so this would make it more resilient against such scenario.

  The "admin" user doesn't exist, modules are not loaded because all 404 
because the http://localhost:8181/wiki/index.php/Main_Page doesn't seem right + 
all try to load http://localhost:8181/w/load.php. I dig deeper. I think it's a

  With language fallbacks, this isn’t as clear as it sounds. Wikibase does a 
similar thing with its localized edit summaries (implemented in 
`AutoCommentFormatter::getSummaryMessage`): edit summary messages exist in 
several variants, e. g. wikibase-**entity**-summary-wbeditentity-create and 
wikibase-**item**-summary-wbeditentity-create, and it first checks whether the 
entity type-specific message exists before falling back to the generic “entity” 
message. I //thought// the intention of this was to let a generic translation 
take precedence over an entity type-specific version in a fallback language; 
however, it looks like if the entity type-specific message has an English 
translation, then it will always exist for the purposes of this check, and 
never fall back to the generic “entity” message even if that one is translated. 
For example, this diff in Scots 
 still 
displays “Created a new Item” (item, English) and not “Creatit a new entity” 
(entity, Scots). I’m not sure if this is the intended behavior in Wikibase, or 
if it’s what we want in WikibaseQualityConstraints.

Another motivation for these is that they can be good examples of much shorter 
trailblazings. I mean, one trailblazing can start with as little as 2 weeks 
time, taking one cyclic dependency between only 2 classes, focus on it and 
figure out whether it's worth it to fix and how to fix.
  
  We could try to focus a trailblazing on the most concerning dependency issue 
that we see. Right now though it isn't really clear what that is, and I don't 
think there is much value in a few of us sifting through all of the reports and

day basis, and thenperhaps kic off trailblazings from there.

  Having said that, maybe we are making our trailblazings too formal, and 
perhaps we could
   remove some of this overhead (probably something to discuss elsewhere though)

  I'd like to note that I'm against the trend of our raid configurations 
becoming raid0 per node, and relying on horizontal node redundancy over disk 
redundancy.
  
  Losing a single disk in a raid0 node invalidates the entire node, making it a 
single point of urgency for our on-site engineers to address quickly.  If we 
stick with some kind of actual disk redundancy, we lessen the urgency of those 
disk failures by an order of magnitude.

  @Smalyshev No it doesn't really matter with which endpoint it is connected. 
We just need an http query endpoint for test wiki data.

  @akosiaris Happy to say that were are now have code have sending out request 
metrics form master.
  
  In our investigation about going to test.wikidata.org it became apparent 
there was a little more infrastructure stuff to do so I made: T226814 
 and I think also the required 
patches.
  
  Would you be able to review them? Also note that I haven't (because I don't 
know how to) added any secrets just the dummy reference to them.

  Using an inner element solution makes sense to me, now that  the problems of 
using the outer element solution have become apparent. I would be fine with 
using that, now seeing how my previously favorited approach is struggling.

  I'm not sure I understand how using an inner child is affecting the 
possibility of such a future migration, compared to migrating the parameter 
from an outer parent to the href. Wouldn't the wiki text/template/lua function 
not needed to be changed either way?

  The cons for strategy 2 are undeniable and substantial - the idea of 
"everything should be part of the href", however, was blown a bit out of 
proportion in the cause of the discussion. It could be the end game but it's 
usefulness is limited until the wikidata side actually makes use of these 
incoming values. Data attributes can be a viable option for augmenting the 
mark-up with needed information that we decide (temporarily or permanently) not 
to encode into the links. My argument is not in favor of adding yet another 
questionable meta requirement but
  
  - to focus on, especially during the MVP phase, //one// solid way of doing 
things
  - trying not to re-implement native browser behavior with elements not meant 
for that (e.g. click behavior on spans)
  - finding a more elegant solution when roadblocks become evident (2 links in 
one marked-up area) instead of hoping it will work out somehow
  
  The links (item id, property id) already exist, and we want template editors 
- for each of them - to specify additional information (editing flow for now).
  Due to the fact that wiki syntax is used, we will not be able to add data 
attributes directly to the hyperlink elements. However, we can add children to 
the hyperlinks, which then are part of the anchor (see edit pen of the example 
above).
  Given the way HTML works, hyper links can not be nested into each other and 
hyperlinks natively exhibit click behavior.
  If we added the needed data attribute(s) to a child (e.g. a span) of the 
hyperlinks we seem to be able to arrive at most of the pros without any of the 
cons - while leaving the door open for a future migration of parameters to the 
href.

  I’ve had the same problem, turned out some ad-/privacy-blockers block the 
loading of `fingerprint.js`, see also T86799 
. After adding an exception for 
wikidata.org to uBlock Origin I use, everything works fine.

 localy and the Formatted URL did not work. It happened just like on factgrid. 
I am thinking that documentation is missing something out.
