  Previously list item with Wikidata item had `#t-wikibase` ID by virtue of 
being in Tools section. Some gadgets, stylesheets, and user scripts do use this 
ID (`insource:"t-wikibase" prefix:all:` search in ruWP

 enWP 
).
 Will this be accounted for in some way (like providing a class like 
`wb-otherproject-wikibase-item` and doing global replacements)?

  I want so support basically everything that @GreenReaper said above. WMDE can 
take control of DNS back or we can use wikibase.org at WMF.  But nn both cases 
HTTPS can be fixed, which this ticket is about.
  
  Also the plan from @Addshore sounds about right to me at this point.  Since 
that means things will happen on the WMDE side i would like to unassign this 
ticket from me now.

  It seems like we have been in a Mexican standoff 
 / impasse here since July 2017 
 which is unfortunate, I 
don't want to know how many hours have been spent trying to figure this out.
  
  Yes let's leave it open at least until sub tickets are created to tidy up 
what has already be done etc.

  It's a shame we have cases of self redirects already in history that we have 
to try to deal with.
  
  @alaa_wmde thoughts?
  basically when coming from storage, we want to allow deserialization and 
serialization.
  when coming from a user we want to disallow it.
  Then when we load such cases from storage to display to users in JSON we can 
just show them the JSON, and when displaying them the UI we can show them a 
page stating that this revision of the entity is invalid.

  The estimation comes down to, do we:
  
  1. Just more the dispatching mechanism over to jobs, using the same or very 
similar logic that we currently have.
- Probably not the most efficient dispatching logic
- Least effort to get there
- Solves most of the issues outlined in T48643#5336132 

  2. Change the way dispatching works while we move over to jobs
- More work & time
- Probably makes dispatching faster, more efficient, more reliable and 
easier to understand
- Best use of job queue for dispatching
- Also solves the issues outlined in T48643#5336132 

  
  If number 2 then we also have to decide how exactly we will be changing the 
logic.

  Yeah I know, I think the reason is that the graphs are in log scale and this 
change is definitely not big enough to make an impact on orders of magnitude. 
Testing it without log scale is not super useful given the amount of noise and 
jumps and outliers. I think if we make a daily moving average of the p95, it 
would be more visible.

  I had this idea before I knew I was going to attend the hackathon. I've 
worked with georectified maps from different sources and different software 
tools over the last years. I've always wished there was more interoperability 
of map metadata between all these sources/tools. And I think it's time for a 
search tool that can find historical maps from all important repositories of 
georectified historical maps.
  
  > Bert's proposal sounds like a suggestion for an additional type of Commons 
data object, with a specified JSON structure. This would likely require edits 
to the MediaWiki code itself, which might take some time coming; and would it 
necessarily be storing the data where we wanted it?
  
  In my proposal I'm using a JSON structure as an example, just as a way to sum 
up all the fields needed to capture a complete map georectification. I'd like 
to use the hackathon to come up with a data structure that is compatible with, 
for example, Map Warper, Wikidata, Klokan and IIIF. The data structure could be 
a JSON structure, together with transformers to make it compatible with  
Commons structured-data statements, and Commons data objects.

  This is live now. One easy way to get it to show is to go to an entity page 
and set the network mode to "offline" in the network tab of chrome devtools, 
and then attempt to save an edit.
