I've NPOV'd the paragraph, and I will try to locate additional sources on

There's an ANI thread on this issue.
There is also some coverage on an external, critical website.

Interesting thread and questions. A related question though is
whether unfettered eternal searchability of the Internet is
unambiguously a good thing. Take the types of BLP, privacy, etc.
issues we deal with everyday on Wikipedia, and extrapolate them to the
rest of the 'net

Well, publicizing them will certainly help us, I don't think.

my comments there may have some relevance to the broader issue being raised

This article has already been the mainpage FA, but if anyone thinks there
should be more content added sourced elsewhere, he or she should feel free.
I've been meaning to do it myself, with some books I have here, whenever the
ArbCom has a quiet week (so wish me luck on that one).

This is a very valid point in terms of another way of approaching the issue.
(In evaluating the speech for completeness, do bear in mind that I only had
a certain amount of time and couldn't make every possible point, but I
should have found room for this one.)

I have come to the conclusion that a very large percentage of BLP's
need to be semiprotected at the very least. I am still thinking
through the best way to implement such a change, but the current
