Re: [Wikimedia-l] Status of APG and FDC?

2020-03-14 Thread Delphine Ménard
Hello,

While the FDC deliberations were indeed suspended at the start of movement
strategy discussions, several FDC members participated in the Movement
Strategy process, in working Groups and through their local community
involvement. The valuable points of learning from the work accomplished by
the FDC over the years definitely made it into the strategy process and
into the recommendations. As Mike noted, funding for affiliates in the
program was maintained at a fairly constant level, based on the last FDC
recommendations. As movement strategy recommendations are being finalized,
the FDC, the board, and the grants team will be working on the next steps,
especially keeping in focus Movement Strategy recommendations.

We know how important this is and we all take it seriously, but actionable
next steps might take some time, as we are dealing with a complicated and
unexpected situation, and need all hands on deck to ensure the safety and
well-being of our communities and staff.

Best,

Delphine

2020-03-10 Thread Michael Peel
As I understand it, the FDC was basically suspended at the start of the
movement strategy discussions, and hasn’t met since. The funding for affiliates
was apparently maintained at a constant level during the suspension, and the
future of the program depends on whatever the movement strategy outcomes are.
As a former FDC member, it’s a sad situation to see, as the committee was doing
valuable work that’s been lost due to uncertainty.

Hopefully the current FDC members / WMF staff / WMF board can provide more info
on this soon...

Thanks,
Mike

[Wikimedia-l] Status of APG and FDC?

2020-03-10 Thread Dan Garry (Deskana)
Hi all,

Does anyone know what the status of the APG process and the FDC is? The
documentation on-wiki seems to be out of date:

   - The APG info page [1] says new applications are not being accepted,
and there's a bunch of errors in the table.
   - The APG page [2] doesn't make reference to the above statement about
   new applications not being accepted.
   - The FDC page [3] says the terms of all of the members expired in
either 2018 or 2019, and doesn't make any reference to the above either.

Thanks!

Dan
