I fully agree, but also not just care for babies and kids,
but also elderly and sick which are much more in danger in a pandemic.

The COT has identified 3 broad areas for scholarship support, Connectivity,
soft support, and community support.  Like the Wikicite link that Mike
mentioned: we want to make it as light on bureaucracy as possible. We want
to tailor it to the needs of as many people as possible with a priority for
engaging people who haven't experienced wikimania.

Please keep putting out ideas as to the support that will benefit people
we'll try to include as many options as possible

Dear Esteban,

I understand your concern. Allow me to clarify that even though this year's
Wikimania is virtual, we plan to have increased participation. The
scholarship program will be repurposed to facilitate participation in the
virtual event.

We shall provide more information and guidance on this in the coming weeks.
