Dear fellow Wikimedians,
We've been told that there were 29 scholarship applications from Pakistan this
year for the Wikimania 2014 in London. Of those, eight were allowed forward
into phase two. In the final results, only one applicant from Pakistan received
a scholarship, zero were wait-listed

BBC will be hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon for the first time in Pakistan on
December 8th in Islamabad - to raise awareness of the gender gap on Wikipedia,
improve Wikipedia's coverage on women and encourage women to edit the
encyclopedia.
