(https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archives_du_Comité_international_de_la_Croix-Rouge)
 le 28 octobre 2013 dès 15:00.
Est-ce qu'un photographe genevois serait intéressé à venir également ?

About LabisAlps, at the moment I don't push a lot the templates of
Wikimedia Switzerland because the work is on going. At the end of 2013
the template will be in any article part of the project and there will
be the rollout in other languages.

The De Re Metallica is uploaded from Archive.org because it has been
the first test to upload ancient books. It wa simportant to avoid *any
problem connected with the digitization* and to proceed with a book
already in PDF.

Instead of fighting with books digitized from scracth, this book was
already present in open source, so it has been uploaded in Wikisource.

The main job of Wikisource is the transcription and I can assure that
that of De Re Metallica is really hard *and not adapt for people
without a strong knowledge in Latin language*.

The remaiming books will be uploaded by Wikimedia CH as the first
attempt has been done with success and with a good result.

Hi,

I have received yesterday the WMCH newsletter. This is great to
get some
news in that format, I guess this is the work of our new community
managers. Also the work of Manuel, it seems to me that this is the
first
newsletter sent by CiviCRM? So, congratulations to all the people who
have worked on it.

Here are a few remarks related to this mailing, the contents, and
others:

* Newsletters are elaborated on the wiki, you can help and find the
archive here: https://members.wikimedia.ch/Newsletters/
* I think the English version of this newsletter should be also posted
here, on this ML. It's primarily for members, but this could be also
interesting for others.
* Unsubscribe/re-subscribe procedure seems to work.
* How to change the recipient email address for this mailing? I have
tried the unsubscribe link and then tried to recover my password
with
my email address but this seems to fail (hostname
test.wikimedia.ch http://test.wikimedia.ch is
also strange)...

* In general, it's really great to see more activity on the
wiki... but
it's pretty difficult to be triggered about something new. The
only way
I know, is to use the atom/rss feed of the recent changes... and in my
case it does not work with my online aggregator (Netvibes). So
this is a
problem to be triggered about what happens and this looks to me to
be a
brake to get involved members.

* Do we have periodic reports about the LabisAlp project in English? I
can't find one neither on the Mailing-List nor in the wiki nor in the
GLAM working group report.
* LabiAlp project uploads (for example
http://it.wikisource.org/wiki/Indice:Labi_1996.djvu) should be
labelled
as sponsored by WMCH and categorized in a dedicated project category.
*
https://la.wikisource.org/wiki/Liber:Agricola_De_re_metallica.djvu was
scanned and uploaded to archive.org http://archive.org in 2008,
so I'm not sure to
understand the relation with the LabisAlp project.

* Do we have reports in English about the activity of the WIR?
* Nice to have the interview of Micha, I don't know if this one is old
or not, hope not so... I was not informed about its release.
* It was impossible to me to find the WIR interview on the WMCH
web site
(without having the direct link)

https://www.wikimedia.ch/%5Bi18n-termpath-raw%5D/wikipedian-residence-swiss-federal-archives
... I think this is linked nowhere in other pages and also the URL is
pretty strange (%5Bi18n-termpath-raw%5D)
* I feel somehow bad to read something like No, there are no such
specific targets of my residency from a WIR. Paying a WIR without
having many new interesting pictures in Commons is IMO a problem. It's
also a problem, because without these upload pictured, I don't really
see how to involve the community (also AFK) in this partnership. I
hope
the legal problems will be fixed soon @BAR.

Emmanuel

Re: [Wikimediach-l] wiki loves monuments: all countries monuments in a single database ...

2011-09-05 Diskussionsfäden Nico Ray
Hi Beat,

So far, people did send me the questions or problems and I forwarded them to
the Confederation (to be honnest, so far there was no error reported but only
clarifications requests).

This solution has been choosen in order for me to be used as a filter between
the requestors and the authorities and it works quite well. I was able to
handle requests like the complains about the color of painting on a house or
the questions about decisions to select such or such monuments on the A or the
B lists.

If you discover any problem, just feel free to send it. They are really quick
and efficient to reply.

Best,
Nico

Talking about the database for WLM...

Is there a way to suggest changes to the official data from the Confederation
(e.g. wrong geolocation data)? - It would be nice to have a place to indicate
this kind of problems and to feed them back to the Confederation if they are
interested...

Best,

 Hi everyone,

I just realized we now have all countries participating in Wiki Loves
Monuments in the big monument database[1]! In total we now have just
 over 400.000 items in there.
This took a lot of effort, but I'm happy we reached this milestone. This
doesn't mean we're done. We still have a lot of things to fix and maybe
more sources to add (other languages or parts of countries).

[Wikimediach-l] Wiki loves monuments in Switzerland - request for help

2011-05-10 Diskussionsfäden Nico Ray
Dear all,

As most of you already know, WMCH is participating in the European contest
Wiki Loves Monuments this summer.

We already have our web site build for this event
(http://www.wikilovesmonuments.ch), currently in the fine-tuning mode.

One of the remaining task is to link, for each item, the existing articles on
Wikipedia when existing in order to allow people browsing directly to this
article. We are looking for some people to provide help to complete this task.

Basically, if you have a bit of time and you want to participate, just let me
know the canton you want to handle and provide me with an Excel file or simple
text file (coma separated for instance) with 5 columns :
 - name of the item in the tool, as displayed in the column Object
(Gegenstand/Objet/Soggetto)
 - article on DE
 - article on FR
 - article on IT
 - article on EN
Just let the column blank when no article exists for one item in one or more
language.

For your information, Ticinese, Vaud, Geneva and Neuchatel are already in
progress.

Thanks in advance for your help !
Nico

[Wikimediach-l] Contact's DB

2011-01-27 Diskussionsfäden Nico Ray
Hi all,

Quick question : do we already have a database for all contacts (press, people
asking for info, etc...) ? If not, wouldn't it be a good idea to have one, in
order to track who was contacting who, why, when ?

Obviousely, this list should be stricly restricted.

In case it already exists, please let me know : I do have 2 press contact to
add.

Thanks and regards,
Nico
