I too believe that it very much relevant . For some one who wants to know
every new happening in Wikipedia , that mail was not redundant .The mailing
list consists of both new comers and experienced users . under such
situation , the mail was not only relevant but also informative .

Yes it's definitely relevant, but few of us missing the point.
There are better and easier ways of getting such updates:
1. Blog posts (also available via Twitter/Wikimediablog):
https://blog.wikimedia.org/c/technology/
https://blog.wikimedia.org/2013/11/07/introducing-beta-features/
2.
Thanks Pavanaja, just a link would have sufficed,
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures
I don't think such updates need to be shared at all these mailing
lists. Folks at Meta, and wikimedia.org might be knowing this already.

+1 Ansuman.
Also sharing such emails with regional language lists don't serve the
purpose as they wish to receive as less as possible emails in non-native
languages.

I beg to differ. Pavanaja doesn't spam the list. Some new features are
being publicised. A well-crafted email has been placed. In many cases,
Indic Wikipedians are unaware of what's happening. This is an India list
the topic is completely relevant.
