Re: [Wikimediauk-l] Gift Aid - a further update
Direct debits certainly aren't free, though the majority of the costs are set-up and annual ones, rather than proportional to the level of donations, so once we're larger it will be relatively cheaper. However it's by the by at the moment since the Co-Op require you to have had an account with them for a year before they'll let you set-up direct debits (out of other people's accounts). And other banks have similar rules, I believe. You need to prove you are trustworthy before you can start taking money out of people's accounts. ___ Wikimedia UK mailing list wikimediau...@wikimedia.org http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_UK http://mail.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimediauk-l
Re: [Wikimediauk-l] Manchester meetup
Date is now finalised as Saturday 14th March, at 1pm (time based on London meetups which seems to be a good setup). Please sign up if you can make it[1] - if you'd like to be reminded about it nearer the time, please sign your name in the reminders section - no excuses! :-) If you can't make it but would like to be notified of UK meetups, please sign your name on [2]. Even if you can make it and want to be notified of future meetups, please sign too! Thanks, and looking forward to March! There is certainly nothing bizarre about wishing to attend after a years absence from editing. I've been a member of this list for 18months and can't recall any mention of Manchester meetup 2 or 3 ever being advertised on the list. Meetup 2 was mentioned on the GM project. Wikipedia is the encyclopedia *anyone *can edit. I have not been barred from editing and do edit under a wikiname that wouldn't link me to my past. I'm not 45 and from AL so attending the meetup in that guise would be far stranger than a lapsed editor showing an interest. Wikipedia doesn't mandate its editors to be truthful, do untruths help swing xfds or Rfa's? - I think thats doubtful - consistant editing and sourcing makes wikipedia good. m ___ Wikimedia UK mailing list wikimediau...@wikimedia.org http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_UK http://mail.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimediauk-l
