You shouldn't edit the files in .git directly :P Git ships with nice frontends for it to make sure, you don't do anything false :) To update the remote of a remote, simply run: git remote set-url origin ssh://gerrit.wikimedia.org:29418/mediawiki/extensions/DynamicPageList.git Best, Florian
