Advantage AP to Classic SM can achieve 14 mbps to the Classic SM, not

This is a program called IPTrack. IPTrack collects netflow data
from the Mikrotiks and compiles it in a database. The website that
Marlon pointed to is the user interface for IPTrack.

Where could I get some info on your system?

http://dev.webpipe.net/iptrack/

Marlon's copy has been customized somewhat by the author of the
IPTrack software, Brandon Checketts.

Yes, I have had that one.In this case, it was a customer self-install
(the guy's trying to learn more about wireless, so I let him... ) and they
neglected to actually BURY the cable...

Oh, and I had one where the dog dug up the flower bed (through 3 inches of
red volcanic rock, into the dirt up against the house) found the wire and
chewed it through. In fact, he had spread bits of wire all over the yard.
He did this on the 2nd day after install. So, it now is in the same place,
but ... surrounded by conduit :)

I Noticed they mention Columbia REA.

CREA put up huge numbers of Vivato Panels, and have been spewing noise
massively all over SW Washington.

The last time I saw a reseller's rates, it was appealing to stay on dialup
instead. They were charging over $200 for a lower service level than I get
$38 for...

CREA hasn't got any "wireless guys" and so they spend their time looking at
their maps in the office and won't bother to make a site survey. I know
people who can SEE their stuff and they won't come out and see if it'll
work.

Secondly, these projects have ALL failed so far. Portland is way ahead of

These projects seem to be yet another way for big companies (Century Tel

I'd be happy to help you with a story about wireless broadband if you're

I have a few phone numbers. The tech support has gotten better, but I only
call them with Prizm/BAM problems.

I really don't know that they have a "Patrick" but the area rep is helpful.
He has always gotten me to the right person.

Partial hijack here. On a related subject, is there anyone at Motorola
that is "really good with WISPs". Someone who I can call and talk to as
a Canopy user. Not a script reader. I admit I have never called them.
I rely on vendors, and other WISPs for all Canopy related info and
support. Moto is so big, I'm scared that I'd get the "hold music" for
an hour and them some dude that I can't understand..Ok..what I
want to know is what moto # do I call to talk to their "Patrick Leary".
:)*Patrick suddenly feels warm and fuzzy inside...* So I guess this
isn't too much of a hijack. :) How do we contact their "Patrick".
After we know that we can talk to him about joining.

[WISPA] per user bit tracking

2006-09-29 Thread Marlon K. Schafer (509) 982-2181

We've gotten this mostly fleshed out.
http://radius.odessaoffice.com/iptrack

We've always had a 1 gb per month limit on our customers.

We have less than a month of data collected so far. For half of the
customers we have only a few days.

http://radius.odessaoffice.com/iptrack/topusers.php?month=9&year=2006

Looks like I'll have to raise the levels up a bit. I'll see if I can get an
average reading down with the total.

Seems like this scenario was the biggest argument against the form. Not
that we can do much. It's the law.

[WISPA] Report: U.S. the Garden Spot for Muni-wireless Systems

2006-09-29 Thread Dawn DiPietro

Report: U.S. the Garden Spot for Muni-wireless Systems

From CED Magazine, September 22, 2006
By eff Baumgartner

Led by deployments in the U.S., the number of municipal wireless network
deployments for public use will surge from 248 this year, to more than
1,500 by the end of 2010.

That forecast, courtesy of In-Stat, notes that wireless mesh technology
will play a key role in those deployments, but that it won’t be the only
platform munis will employ. Additionally, those networks will be
deployed and operated by a mix of parties.

“The trend has the local government facilitating deployment, but having
a private sector provider owning and operating the network,” said
In-Stat Analyst Daryl Schoolar, in a statement.
