Do you use anything else (Cisco, Mikrotik, StarOS)? You might be able to translate OSPF to the RIP where needed, or don't route the legacy stuff and put something before it that does it. I also second, third, or fourth (don't know how many people chimed it as of yet) OSPF. There are others
