Yeah, about the only thing we run into where we need it is with old Nortel
gear. RIP RIP 1,2,3.

Do you use anything else (Cisco, Mikrotik, StarOS)? You might be able
to translate OSPF to the RIP where needed, or don't route the legacy
stuff and put something before it that does it. I also second, third,
or fourth (don't know how many people chimed it as of yet) OSPF. There
are others
You'll just have to drop a tap in right behind the AP.
If you have client to client allowed I have no idea how to help you.
Anyone else have any ideas for Josh? (remember to hit reply all)

Yeppers, that's going to be a huge driver for us.
3g is going in all over, but it's too expensive and too slow. Out here
people that travel for work are using it, and those who's only other choice

We installed Alvarion 5.8 gear for those that wanted better service.

That was my only idea, however that includes data from other CPE
radios which voids the rules of engagement :/

Not if you have a collector behind the tap. You can still filter out the
traffic that you don't need for the warrant.

No it doesn't. Talk to Butch and get him to build you an MT based tap
device.
Or go to Imagestream. They have CALEA devices too.
You'll need a server to do the store and forward too.

Not so sure about the experimental statement.
I don't have a mesh network.
I have about 1000 radios in the air and it's OLSR.
As a matter of fact we're getting ready to take down what OSPF we have
pretty soon.
Rock solid.

My network is currently mostly WRAP boards running StarOS. As I do
maintenence, repairs, or expand new towers, I am adding Routerboards
running MT. I turned up a new Mikrotik Firewall several weeks ago.
The real reason for my question is that we turn on RIP several weeks
ago and the network seems
A routing protocol like RIP should not make your network slower (or
faster). Although if I remember correctly, RIP does send out frequent
network updates, even if nothing changes. So I guess it's possible if
you have a lot of RIP devices all sending out updates, it could be
creating some
