Re: [WISPA] ASR Sign Requirements
The only official language that I am aware of is contained in 47 C.F.R. 17.4 (g) and (h). I think there is a synopsis included on the Reference copy of your ASR registration. (g) Except as described in paragraph (h) of this section, the Antenna Structure Registration Number must be displayed in a conspicuous place so that it is readily visible near the base of the antenna structure. Materials used to display the Antenna Structure Registration Number must be weather-resistant and of sufficient size to be easily seen at the base of the antenna structure. (h) The owner is not required to post the Antenna Structure Registration Number in cases where a federal, state, or local government entity provides written notice to the owner that such a posting would detract from the appearance of a historic landmark. In this case, the owner must make the Antenna Structure Registration Number available to representatives of the Commission, the FAA, and the general public upon reasonable demand. Re: [WISPA] ASR Sign Requirements
At minimum it needs to have the tower ASR registration number and emergency contact phone number. It needs to be posted where it is visible at the point where the public has the closest access. If there is a locked gate near the road the sign needs to be there and not only at the tower. http://wireless.fcc.gov/antenna/index.htm?job=about_posting Thank You, Brian Webster 214 Eggleston Hill Rd. Re: [WISPA] New National Broadband Map Shows Your Fastest Web Connection
Tim, This initial map is data that is six months old. I don't believe you had your data turned in to Indiana until after the last deadline. You should be on the next update that comes out in April. That is one of the reasons I think it is important that WISPs make this a priority. There is a time lag and in some cases, that may result in lost sales for those who procrastinate reporting. I personally think the state maps will be the most current information, until a faster reporting mechanisms between the state and federal maps is invented. I did make the suggestion to Andrew that they should include readily available and visible links to state maps.
