Re: [WISPA] GOOGLE Maps - Marketing PROPOSAL
Mac, Let me figure out what went wrong.. i have no problem removing your listings but would you prefer that we corrected the positioning? Tom.. OK.. i see... Well.. hmmm... 3 points.. #3 is most important... First point.. I dont want ANY traffic to leave your site and go to the map. What i want is for GOOGLE's SPIDERS to see that tons o wisp's sites are pointing to the WISP MAP. 2nd. MAP by my estimation.. .we should be getting 45,000 unique visitors to our GOOGLE MAP - IF we land on page 1 of google. under wireless Internet So... IF your site did indeed loose some traffic.. then I'm sure you'd get more in return.. besides... your listing will ALWAYS be on the map... you can just REMOVE YOUR LINK TO THE MAP at will.. so its a pretty safe deal. IF you really want to prevent any vistors from seeing the link, just put a blue background gif or jpg behind the html wireless internet text link... ___ 3rd. IF you wish... since i believe that WISPS and 3g Cellular does NOT need to compete... I can put a large qualifier that says, If you are looking for FIXED Location Broadband Choose a WISP over EVDO. EVDO is generally slower. It is better Suited for Mobile Internet Needs. -- Robert Q Kim, Wireless Internet Advisor http://evdo-coverage.com http://wirelessinternetcoverage.com http://hsdpa-coverage.com 2611 S. Re: [WISPA] GOOGLE Maps - Marketing PROPOSAL
I think this all sounds logical to me. I applaud the effort for getting us out there on the net. Let me know how I can help the effort. I have tried to get my information on there a few times with no success but I am willing to keep working it as long as you are. I think it might be a good idea for you to have a web page URL for WISPs to go to that is easy to remember that tells us exactly, step by step, what we need to do to post to your site. Then we can each go there without having to try to look through archives or old email messages to find the steps. Especially since these steps and instructions have changed periodically. Then you can update the page with new information as changes happen on this beta effort. Re: [WISPA] GOOGLE Maps - Marketing PROPOSAL
I think it would be good to have a way to remove entries for WISPs if we wish. I wold encourage a username and password system for this however. Not to load you down with work. Just want this to be a success for us all. Re: [WISPA] GOOGLE Maps - Marketing PROPOSAL - 3 points.
John, thanks for your positive comments... As far as I'm concerned. if you consider the 40,000-50,000 UNIQUE People PER DAY who look at the top TEN of GOOGLE... under wireless internet they are NOT finding what they are looking for #1 = http://www.internet.com/sections/it.html #10= http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2115271.stm Boingo shows up #3 BUT thats just 1 out of TEN listings that shows the consumer HOW TO GET INTERNET SERVICE... the rest are useless to someone on dialup wanting faster speed. So.. there's a HUGE OPPORTUNITY waiting for us.. We just need to pool are strengths.. and heck.. its important enough to me that i'm willing to make my fair share of compromises so that we all arrive together... happily :o) RE REMOVE and EDIT.. we are still working on that now.. we're almost done.. :o) hang in there... bob RE ATTEMPTED ADDITION OF POINTS JOHN, where is your wisp??? lemme see if i can manually add a few point for you and let you know what i did.. Re: [WISPA] GOOGLE Maps - Marketing PROPOSAL
I understood it like this. We all put those words on our site. Then google will rank those words wireless internet really high in hits and send everyone to the evdo wisp site. But if all we need is the words, like Tom said, can I just bury them in the back where no one will see them and go get dsl?/??
