Re: [WIRELESS-LAN] Lead time for Wi-Fi gear?

2021-06-02 Thread Ronald Loneker
Good Morning -

I was out of the office last week and just saw this post.

Back in April, we ordered approximately 42 Aruba IAP 515 units and they
came within a few weeks.

A week and a half later, I inquired about another 62 units and I was told
late August to late September for shipping - when I finally got approval to
place the order in May, it was still the same timeline for availability.

Re: [WIRELESS-LAN] Lead time for Wi-Fi gear?

2021-05-26 Thread Rodolfo Nunez
Hi all,
Yes, the Aruba WAPs are taking months instead of weeks. Cisco switches have
also taken a couple of months. This is delaying ongoing projects but so we
are adjusting and ordering gear as early as possible. If anyone knows how
to get around this supply chain issue, please let me know.
Thanks,
Rodolfo

RE: Lead time for Wi-Fi gear?

2021-05-21 Thread Jennifer Minella
IDK if this helps but the lead time will vary per manufacturer and model,
depending on what they had in stock and their allocations internally and at
various distributors. Behind the scenes, the manufacturers can do an allocation
and hold for what they think are most critical needs. E.g. during the peak of
COVID they prioritized healthcare end-users.

So some models may have already been built and get out the door quickly, while
others were low inventory/high demand and therefore not in production yet due
to the chip shortage.
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/12/the-global-chip-shortage-could-last-until-2023-.html

Also worth noting, the status can change daily. Work with your VAR/reseller and
they can usually get a bit more info via disti and/or the manufacturer. As
always, mileage may vary. A valid and easy question is – what IS available and
see if that suits your needs.

Good luck and happy Friday!

Hi Everyone,

We ordered a few hundred Cisco 9105AXW APs about six weeks ago and were
pleasantly surprised when they arrived about three weeks later (expected
lead time was two months).

Other equipment (non-Wi-Fi) has been taking much longer.

Most of the time we receive APs in two weeks or less. There is a supply chain
problem right now for some AP models, but six months is much longer than any
delays I’ve heard about. You may want to contact your VAR or Aruba yet to see
the best way to go.

We are Cisco as well and we are hearing 5 - 6 months lead time except for the
9130s which we were told 1 month lead time about two weeks ago.

What's the word on lead time for your Wi-Fi gear? We are primarily Cisco but
have some Aruba and see ship times six months out. Is that what everyone else
is seeing? I know some Meraki gear can be shipped within a week or so. I just
wanted to get a feel from the group as to what they hear on the street.

RE: [WIRELESS-LAN] Lead time for Wi-Fi gear?

2021-05-20 Thread McClintic, Thomas
We ordered about 400 535 APs and the lead time was about 6 weeks. We did accept
partials which we were told would expedite the delivery. These were received
about 2-3 weeks ago.

 EXTERNAL EMAIL
Most of the time we receive APs in two weeks or less. There is a supply chain
problem right now for some AP models, but six months is much longer than any
delays I've heard about. You may want to contact your VAR or Aruba yet to see
the best way to go.
