Hi Rick,
You asked...
Personally, I don't think that putting a small to medium sized show on is
that big of a production. FISPA does it with minimal staff.
I think you could hire someone to do the footwork, working with the venues,
sell the vendor sponsorships, etc. I know that Greg Boehnlein
More burden (potentially unconstitutional) for us, and no lasting effect on
crime. a VPN or p2p by the criminals would undermine the whole thing. Is the
government trying to catch only the stupid criminals? They can hang out on
craigslist for that, and won't need any new laws.
It's amazing how

I know this subject has been visited already recently. We are meeting
with a local rural electric coop about using pole space to facilitate
neighborhood wireless. They have some concerns about aesthetics and
liability, does anyone already doing this have some pics they can share
so that we can
First off, tell them you do NOT want to be in the power space, you
want to be in the communications space. (Otherwise all of your
installs and maintenance will need to be done by a lineman... this is
for YOUR safety!)
Tell them your equipment is the equivalent of a cable-TV power supply

We ourselves are a rural electric coop and put equipment on utility poles.
Since we ARE the utility we can put some devices up in the power space

may need to maintain a certain clearance. Our fiber for example, is
And when talking to the utility company, don't EVER use the
word cell, cellular, or PCS.

Has anyone gotten on a US Cellular tower?
Doing some sample pricing for the state and the only towers I can readily find
in the areas are US Cellular owned and I can't seem to find where to contact
them about it.

I am considering constructing a small tower site (for microwave ptp uses
mostly) next to an AM radio tower. Like about 300' away. I know not to
be on the tower itself. Am I likely to run into any issues with that
sort of closeness to AM radio?
It's a 1KW station based on current public

WISPA is currently negotiating with a trade show group to participate in
the development of a wireless broadband show. While the decision to do
this is not yet finalized, the show group will decide the date/location

I like the MN install. The other two work for farms or such, but
people in the city quickly get persnickety about things like that. Be
aware of public opinion of in-city installs, residents can cause a lot
of issues!
