I don't see the large data field that calls for zip codes. Am I looking in the wrong place? What is the header for this page?

Members,

I was just called by a company with a large client who is looking for 10-100 Mbps service to 70 locations around the US. They are willing to assist in getting roof rights to help the individual providers accomplish this service level. Although service is needed on a temporary basis, the company is willing to annualize the subscription rate and renew temporary service as needed. They understand the costs involved and are willing to pay substantial fees to the fixed wireless providers that are able to help them accomplish their needs. I’m not going to tell you much more than that, but it is in the upper five figures for temporary service.

This is one reason why it is essential that we get zip codes in our database from each member company, so that you can reap the benefits of such opportunities. Deals like this come along once in a while and we need to have a rapid method of finding Wisps (members) in these locations rapidly. Opportunities like this are one of the reasons, I continue to be excited about our industry and work hard to facilitate and promote our member services and needs. Please assist me by updating your company profiles with the zip codes you serve so that we can help you drive your revenue higher and higher.

To do this and please follow the directions closely:
1. Go to the WISPA website.
2. Go to My WISPA and then My Profile in the main navigation bar below the WISPA logo.
3. Once you click on My Profile, you will be presented a Login screen. Your username should be your email address we have on file and your password is whatever you have changed it to or the default password is Password1, which you will need to change. There is an opportunity to request your password to be sent to you on this page if you have forgotten it.
4. If you have trouble with this, you may have logged in to Memberfuse in the top right hand corner of the WISPA homepage. You should be able to go back to the Homepage and start over at Item 2 above.
5. Once logged in, you should be presented with an Individual Information page. This is your individual profile that you can edit. However, below your personal name and info, you will see your company name below under Organization Information. Click on your company name (it is a link). This takes you to your Organization Profile.
6. Click on Edit Information in the Organization Profile and go to the large data field near the bottom of the form, which calls for zip codes.
7. Enter the zip codes in comma delimited fashion such as 46777, 46750, 46430, …… MAKE SURE YOU PUT A SPACE AFTER EACH COMMA! THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
8. Save

This company wants to move quickly and thus, you need to move quickly in updating your information. This may be the best time you spend today or over the weekend. Try to keep this updated on no more than a quarterly basis as I’m sure other opportunities will arrive and we will need updated information to assist you in gaining high dollar clients.

If you are not a member, this is a very good reason to become one. Either go to the Online Storeand purchase a principal membership or go to http://signup.wispa.organd fill out the form. The Online Store is the quickest way to activate your membership.

Exactly. We've acquired many high value accounts that otherwise would have
been lost if the client got the incorrect impression that we couldn't serve
them.

A better approach would be for Rick to list the 70 ZIP codes and let the
membership speak up if they feel they can service the area.

Best,

Brad

At this point, they seem to be unaware of the database. I did not tell him
about it yet. It was not their idea to update the database, it was mine as
I need cooperation from the individual wisps to bring business to your door.
The last time I looked, I believe only about 40% of the members had updated
the zip code information.

Exactly the point I'm trying to make.listing every ZIP Code in the country
wouldn't do the potential client or potential provider any good. That is
why I suggest listing the ZIP Codes the potential client is interested in
and the providers that feel they can serve the area immediately (or expand
their coverage to earn the business) can respond.

I would be very surprised to learn that we are the only provider that will
build out or expand network coverage in order to acquire a new account! So,
the idea of a provider listing only ZIP Codes that they currently cover
would be considered short sighted.IMO.

I'll add that the street runs both ways as well. We have facilitated many

I will not know the zip codes until WISPA reviews and signs an NDA. That is
now in process. I'm merely pointing out the importance of listing zip codes
so I can quickly reference that list for initial contact opportunities. We
have to start some place. I realize that many operators will expand as
necessary to take care of a valuable client. Zip Codes are part of it,
finding a WISP on the map relatively close to a given point is another way.
There are often a number of WISPA members who serve a given zip code or are
in close proximity to a given location.

From my point of view, it is not my place to pick the winners and losers,
just get the information to those members who could potentially fulfill the
need. Do I make mistakes? Sure I do. I made one last week in California,
when I found a provider that appeared on the map, but I didn't take time to
do a zip code search and missed another member that could have taken care of
the client. I feel badly about that and learned that I need to be more
careful in the future.

The point is, we have come a long way in the past few years but there is
still room for improvement. We need each provider to help us, so we can
help them.

If the zip codes are in the database, I can do mileage calculations based
on the need. I can calculate who/how many WISPs are providing coverage
within 25 miles of a certain zip code. I can do this quickly and
efficiently if the database is updated and would even be able to respond to
the opportunity with Based on our current database, XX% of your requested
zip codes fall within 25 miles of a WISP. This opportunity can turn into
some major cash for a temporary internet connection.

just get the information to those members who could potentially fulfill the
need. Do I make mistakes? Sure I do. I made one last week in California,
when I found a provider that appeared on the map, but I didn’t take time to
do a zip code search and missed another member that could have taken care
of the client. I feel badly about that and learned that I need to be more
 careful in the future.

The point is, we have come a long way in the past few years but there is
still room for improvement. We need each provider to help us, so we can
 help them.

 Rick,

Exactly the point I’m trying to make…listing every ZIP Code in the country
wouldn’t do the potential client or potential provider any good. That is
why I suggest listing the ZIP Codes the potential client is interested in
and the providers that feel they can serve the area immediately (or expand
their coverage to earn the business) can respond.

I would be very surprised to learn that we are the only provider that will
build out or expand network coverage in order to acquire a new account!
So, the idea of a provider listing only ZIP Codes that they currently cover
 would be considered short sighted…IMO.

I’ll add that the street runs both ways as well. We have facilitated many
circuits within our network for third parties.

 Best,

 Brad

 Brad,

I don’t think our database could accept that many and it would not give us
an accurate picture of wireless coverage either. The member’s zip code map
is also generated from this information. I assume when more details are
known, you will get the opportunity to bid on various locations, whether
wirelessly or by data circuit (hardline).

We have facilitated several data circuits around the country. Should we
simply list every ZIP Code in the country?

 Best,

 Brad

At this point, they seem to be unaware of the database. I did not tell
him about it yet. It was not their idea to update the database, it was
mine as I need cooperation from the individual wisps to bring business to
your door. The last time I looked, I believe only about 40% of the members
had updated the zip code information.

Well if I'm 5 miles away from a zipcode and have a 400 foot tower ready to
throw up a backhaul on there and they can pay for it, but I'm not already in
that zip code then they'll never know I'm next door =(

  Members,

I was just called by a company with a large client who is looking for
10-100 Mbps service to 70 locations around the US. They are willing to assist
in getting roof rights to help the individual providers accomplish this service
level. Although service is needed on a temporary basis, the company is willing
to annualize the subscription rate and renew temporary service as needed. They
understand the costs involved and are willing to pay substantial fees to the
fixed wireless providers that are able to help them accomplish their needs.
I’m not going to tell you much more than that, but it is in the upper five
figures for temporary service.

This is one reason why it is essential that we get zip codes in our
database from each member company, so that you can reap the benefits of such
opportunities. Deals like this come along once in a while and we need to have
a rapid method of finding Wisps (members) in these locations rapidly.
Opportunities like this are one of the reasons, I continue to be excited about
our industry and work hard to facilitate and promote our member services and
needs. Please assist me by updating your company profiles with the zip codes
you serve so that we can help you drive your revenue higher and higher.

To do this and please follow the directions closely:

  1. Go to the WISPA website.

  2. Go to My WISPA and then My Profile in the main navigation
bar below the WISPA logo.

  3. Once you click on My Profile, you will be presented a Login
screen. Your username should be your email address we have on file and your
password is whatever you have changed it to or the default password is
Password1, which you will need to change. There is an opportunity to request
your password to be sent to you on this page if you have forgotten it.

  4. If you have trouble with this, you may have logged in to
Memberfuse in the top right hand corner of the WISPA homepage. You should be
able to go back to the Homepage and start over at Item 2 above.

  5. Once logged in, you should be presented with an Individual
Information page. This is your individual profile that you can edit. However,
below your personal name and info, you will see your company name below under
Organization Information. Click on your company name (it is a link). This
takes you to your Organization Profile.

  6. Click on Edit Information in the Organization Profile and go
to the large data field near the bottom of the form, which calls for zip codes.

  7. Enter the zip codes in comma delimited fashion such as
46777, 46750, 46430, …… MAKE SURE YOU PUT A SPACE AFTER EACH COMMA! THIS IS
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

  8. Save

This company wants to move quickly and thus, you need to move quickly
in updating your information. This may be the best time you spend today or
over the weekend. Try to keep this updated on no more than a quarterly basis
as I’m sure other opportunities will arrive and we will need updated
information to assist you in gaining high dollar clients.

If you are not a member, this is a very good reason to become one.
Either go to the Online Store and purchase a principal membership or go to
http://signup.wispa.org and fill out the form. The Online Store is the
quickest way to activate your membership.

Where there is a Wisp, there is a way!
