What you want would be great. In reality, I have yet to see it. The problem with it is that the M, V and C are still tied at the hip in many ways. Mostly in the ways the three pieces need to communicate between themselves. It's relatively easy to make an App to use MVC with any given toolkit

I found tntdb @ http://www.tntnet.org/tntdb.html to be a real nice package. Almost as good as Trolltechs. It will connect to different flavors of databases. You will still have to create your own objects to connect the database to the widgets. For xml I use tinyxml @
