Hi All,
I'm in the process of adding the ability to run a program after installation as
per the documentation.
After adding the relevant xml pieces and confirming the build, I'm finding that
the finish button is still the one with the focus. I'm working with people that

A repair (or a patch and other in place updates) will not replace a
modified file. It's assumed to hold data that was added by the user
after it had been installed and Windows doesn't usually like to
destroy user data.
As has been said, repair is nothing to do with upgrade. Why are you

No I have not seen this. I am definitely not a high end developer as I do
mostly install related development, but with that said I could always have a

We recently upgraded from TFS 2010. Not long after, one of my team

That made me look into TFS 2013's new build template. It now uses the

Hi,
There are 2 ways I'm aware of that you can do this. I haven't looked at
the default build workflow template for a while so can't remember exactly what
needs to be replaced, but these should point you in the right direction.
1 - Create a new build task to do the rename (relocate) the

Or, you could add an activity (and configuration point) that copies the desired
files from the drop location to a new location for publishing.

Off topic (not a WiX discussion at all):
Note, that the Default Template has been optimized for speed since VS/TFS 2010.
There are good performance reason why output is directed to a central OutDir.
It turns out that preserving the workstation outputs in their separate build
folders is a
Hang on... What does your central OutDir look like? :)
That is one of my beefs with RunMSBuild, because I expected the output
to go to bin\, but it ends up in bin\Mixed Platforms\Release and
bin\x64\Release. Do my two targets force its hands so it must create
separate folders for each target?

That sounds like what you'll get if you set RunMSBuild.OutputLocation

publishing my web projects. Which means I end up reworking my setup
projects to fish out relevant .config-files from quite a few scattered
locations. What I'd really
That is the expected behavior for the Default Template when you build multiple
configurations and platforms. Each configuration:platform pair causes the
central OutDir to be set for that pass.
