Hi folks,
In the last couple of days I have been getting many bounces from the list by
mail servers blocking posts as spam because they are in HTML or Outlook Rich

Can I again ask that you try to remember to set your emails to plain text
rather than HTML when posting to the list.

It's all you :) I'm guessing the reason IE5 hides your headings is the

While I think this approach has a real basis for fairly simple sites,
once you start getting into more complex sites, and web applications the
time taken to step back and plan is usually well worthwhile.
This is where I like to have good clear wireframes which have been
thought out clearly to c
I try and move the site away from paper and photoshop into "lots of
grey boxes using XHTML and CSS" as soon as possible. I guess it's
somewhere in between a wireframe and prototype. Considering everything
is just groups of DIVs with IDs and classes, standards make it really
easy to shuffle th
Ignore my last message, I've managed to fix the navbar problem. Added
Position:relative to the CSS for the navbar and back it came. :)

Great, that gets the misbehaving background back in place. But it still
hasn't cured my disappearing menu. I've found that it's also moved off to
the right, thus disappearing off the screen. *sigh*
Thanks for the background fix, though. :)
Cheers,
Seona.

Not looked too closely at your markup or existing CSS, but adding

seems to cure the problem in IE6

Hi guys,
If you have a look at this page in IE6/Win (not sure if it does the same in
IE5 or not) you might see that the "Today's Special" box is floating out
over the main content. It is supposed to sit under the picture that it
beside it and to the right. It did this perfectly yesterday, and does

I guess you are having the problem where IE Mac doesn't float your list
elements properly and they all go to 100% width down the page?
I did this to solve the problem.. you need to float the anchor to the
left as well.. it's the only hack I use:
#menu ul li
{
float : left;
we had a project drag on in the wireframes stage and it wasn't until we went with
prototypes that it got anywhere.
I think the conflict you experienced is based on the expectation of time involved and
possibly your creative decisions being done without other people having input. I would

Hello,
I'm in the process of redesigning a website. My client wanted something to
show internal stakeholders so I started doing a few wireframes but suddenly
wondered, "Why am I doing this? Why don't I just build the website using web
standards?"
A day later I finished a working prototype of the
