Re: [WSG] Help With Hover

2008-06-05 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
This works on the sidebar:

#sidebar .one-image a:hover {
text-decoration: none;
background: none;
}

With that, everything is ok on all he images on the sidebar. But for some
reason i tried to duplicate that code for the mainContent and it wont work.
Ofcourse the difference is that instead of raping the images in divs, since
i cant since the content in the content ares is being pulled from somewhere,
i used the class tag in the image. But it wont work :(

Re: [WSG] Help With Hover

2008-06-05 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Thanks Darren. If you look at the events page not, everything is good. Jut
the movement is still there, thats ok. That one is not like the other one so
thats good ;-)

One more question, if you look at the end of a post, you will see the Share
This link. Now mouse over it and see that the Share This moves into the
image? Why is that?

THANKS

[WSG] Help With CSS

2008-06-05 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Ok, here is the case.

http://www.rockondude.net/index.php
http://www.rockondude.net/events/

I am trying to get rid of the image padding that happens for some reason
only on events page. This does not happen on the index page but for some
reason it happens on the events page.

I am also trying to get id of the pink background under the images.

I like the padding and the background + the padding shift on the text, i
just dont want them on images. I cant edit every single image because they
are being loaded from Wordpress.

Please can anyone help me here???

Re: [WSG] Help With Hover

2008-06-05 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
The reason i cant do that is because the content are being fetched from
wordpress. I cant edit every single image.

I want the padding there. The shift. For the text. Not for the images
though. Neither do i want the background for the images...

Chris Knowles solution works... both of them... I used the first one

cuts into the h3 title... so i dont mind the shifting

 Hello Olajide,

Actually yuors is a pretty simple fix.

Lose the and tags and include your text and graphix
inside your with your thumbnail. Create a class called

 .leftimg {

float:left;

} In your style and then call it from your tag class="leftimg

A working example can be seen at http://1fite.com/17.html

I had a similar problem and solved it.

Good luck,

Firstly, I assume that you mean 'aligning correctly', not aligning to
the right...

Your code contains this:

Name:

Note that the containing the has no ' align="left" ', as
the containing the text does. I think adding this will improve
your layout.

BUT - your code has many errors. You should validate it before posting
a request for help here, as many simple problems can be solved by
validating your code: you can't, for instance, use with a
XHTML Doctype. Must be lower case.

Your use of inline tags, non-breaking spaces, and some would say
the table for layout at all, goes against the whole ethic of Web
Standards. All your presentational instructions should be handled by
css, either in the of your file, or called from an external
stylesheet.

With respect, it looks like you're a beginner, or at least a novice,
with HTML. If this is the case, I suggest you use a HTML4 Doctype (or
no doctype at all), and leave XHTML until you know a bit more about
what you're doing...

Re: [WSG] review

2005-03-20 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Nice website. First thing, the hover under the links. It is bad under
the images. I am using Firefox on Win XP. It does not work well and i
don't know if that is how you want it... You might want to set it for
the images also on your CSS file.

Everything else seems alright. But are you sure that you want the dash
border for the main broder and also use it for everything else like
the navigation, images and so on..?

[WSG] Slicing With Photoshop

2004-09-29 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Hi, I have some questions about slicing in photoshop.

First of all, I noticed that when I slice and save it with the css
settings instead of tables, photoshop uses the x and the y axis thingy
to put the layout in order which means everyhting cannot move ... I
wanted to know how to center the layout if it was not a whole page...?

Second, I want to know what the default layout settings, the width is.
I sometimes try 800*600 but I hate it because it is too small and
wanted to know what the default if for people with 1024*768 or
whatever it is...

Thanks

Re: [WSG] A Church Website

2004-09-22 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Well first of all I have not yet checked the validation errors because
the computer I'm working on has no internet connection for me to be
checking for the validation and my computer crash about 3 weeks ago so
I'm trying to get a new hard drive to start all over again.

The site you see is just a preface to the real site that is still
under development. The client said that they just wanted something
there in the mean time and I agreed to make a clean site to put before
the original one...

Also the site is free but that doesn't stop me from developing it to
the fullest since it is for a church...

And my website is just a standby because I don't have time for mine
yet so I just uploaded wordpress and got a new default template for
it

But I do like it when people tell me what they really think about my
work and Thanks very much for being honest and truthful

BTW: where did you see the blink tag because that is not supposed to
be there

the spacer gifs were from PS from default... left them there...
because it was made with tables...

Re: [WSG] WYSIWYG Editors

2004-09-16 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Thanks guys, but most of the ones I see here don't support Mozilla/Firefox...

FCK Editor looks good and it looks like they just updated it to
support Mozilla, I want something that looks good you know :) Like
Spaw... just that it is only for IE I want users to be able to
edit in any browser

Thanks...

Also DreamWeaver is not a web based WYSIWYG Editor but a program
based I needed web based ones that uses PHP and not ASP or ASP.Net
or anything like that because my server only runs PHP and not ASP\

Re: [WSG] Smooth fonts with CSS

2004-07-30 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Yeah I know... it just that it is flash and I don't want to mess with that
yet until I get my head right to learn it

I would use it if they had the source code ready but it means that I have to
be doing it myself and I don't want to do that until I'm ready to go head on
with flash

Well you could do that, but thats not doing what you asked...
You wanted to smooth your text! and with the FIR that what it basicly
does, it
does not replace the Markup in the Source, it does not replace it with a
image,
the text is still selectable and even can be edited via css
(color,font,font-size) but if you wish to go down the "creating loads of
images"
route then so be it...

but FIR is quick, simple and effortless...

You mean to Anti-Alias them...
Sadly there no way you can do this just thru CSS, you could use
Shaun Inmann's Flash Replacement Trick, which scans you code and replaces
what you select with Flash
http://www.shauninman.com/mentary/past/ifr_revisited_and_revised.php
Ive used it on many projects and its great!

[WSG] Smooth fonts with CSS

2004-07-29 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Hi, I wanted to know if anyone knows how to make fonts smooth, as in the
Photoshop option using CSS.

You see I like Trebuchet MS, but sometimes when I use it on pages directly,
I hate it because it isn't smooth and I know that I have read some where of
how to make fonts smooth with CSS.

Please if you do, reply

[WSG] Valid XHTML and Flash

2004-07-29 Thread Olajide Olaolorun
Hi, I was designing a client site today when I decided to add a little flash
to the site. I did and after that the XHTML page goes invalid because of the
embed code in the page.

I know that some other browsers like Firefox might not work without the
embed code, so please is there a way to make the page valid again and also
to make sure that others who use non-IE can see the flash...

This is the code:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=5,0,42,0";
 id="movie" width="700" height="180">

   http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer";>

a google search for "vertical and horizontal css centered div" gives the

http://www.hicksdesign.co.uk/journal/30/vertical-centering-with-css
