RE: [WSG] Site test?

2011-05-22 Thread Birendra
Hi

I check the site in the iphone simulator and see there are vertical and
horizontal scrollbar their... might be it's because of the logo and the
header image and slider... as this is still in the design platform you have
to workout on that part. Rest of the things are fine except the navigation
part... the links hard to read.

My view of the site there are lot of work to do in the design part also.

Birendra (web designer)

The transition is smooth and the paging buttons just big enough to hit with
my finger on my iPad. Agree regarding the blue on blue nav. Clearly you have
not finished so I'll leave it there.

Mobile:
Samsung Galaxy Prevail [Android/2.2.2] for BoostMobile [low-end "smart
phone" with touch screen].

The page is not "mobile-friendly" on this end.
Full width header footer. Content two column.
Content in left column and 3 column footer unreadable on landing
portrait or landscape.
+3 or +4 font-scaling necessary to make content readable but this draws
a horizontal scroll bar.

You may find this article by Bruce Lawson helpful in determining the
mobile strategy you and your client wish to employ...

Desktop [if of concern]:
Landing on primary content tiny-type at 116.5dpi on a MacBook Pro may be
as difficult for some of your users as it is for me.
Minimum font-size 16 set in the prefs in Mac Firefox/3.6.17 causes the
contact info to break out the right-side of the outermost container.
Minimum font-size 32 set in the prefs in Mac Opera/11.11 [same as above]
and the 3col footer content breaks out the bottom of the outermost
container.

Best wishes and good luck,
~d

Hi Mike

Transitions work on both the iPhone 4 and Android (HTC Desire HD).

FYI - The iPhone displays the page full width so I need to zoom in to see the
menu however on the android the menu is great but I needed to scroll right to
see the the contact form.

Stuart

Hi Jason, in Firefox, there is a one pixel gap between the tab and
the color bar. I only took a look from Mac, but pretty sure the same
thing is showing in PC too as I had encountered the very same problem
with a site that also have color coded tabs. The color bar is quite
thick therefor you can use line-height or padding bottom to
compensate easily.

The collections page loads a bit slow for me though - I am on cable
broadband. I was once quite fancy with this lightbox gallery, but
very soon I got so sick of it I can't even bear to look at it :)
Think it goes better with blog.

Re: [WSG] Site test & Google analytics

2007-07-26 Thread James Ellis
HI Jason

You can stick it in the of the document although that will load it
prior to the rest of the document being loaded which may cause the page to
display a bit later than usual. The way around that issue is to use an event
listener on "load", it could even be delayed by a few seconds using a
settimeout but not too much that the visitor will leave before it fires.

Ggl only suggest sticking it at the end of the to avoid interference
with page load issues, it's sort of a poor mans load handler.

I'm pretty sure having script in the is ok for all html and xhtml
doctypes (strict transitional etc) so you can have your standards cake and
eat it too.

Cheers
James

I like the photo gallery. Did you get the code from another source, or did
you write it? If from another source, do you mine sharing? I wasn't a

Thanks.
