I am not actually adding more devices so at this time, it is just a matter of
discovering that the 3.0 port actually provides “as expected” connectivity. And
having solved the Tx dropout issue is a pleasing outcome.

and USB3 and these total-up on a per controller bassis, you can see each

The reason is that Windows has internally two sets of audio names. One
is for the new Windows Settings menus, but the "true" name is still that
which is used when you open the old "Sounds" menu. And in the registry,
it is stored somewhere else. It is a known Windows bug, that sometimes,

device names if the names have been changed. Other apps, such as Soundcard
Scope, show the current device name.
