Thanks for thinking about this. Our computer hosting the WSJT web site
does not accept ftp connections. In principle I could host anonymous
ftp connections on another Linux machine here; but wouldn't it be almost
as good to put a link and package of sample files on the WSJT web site,

Personally, I'm not bothered either way, embedded or separate (other
than the length of time to compile), but it would be beneficial to have

If you're an early adopter and working out of a non-release branch you have
to understand what you're signing up for.
When a release it tagged, what about dropping them from the archive?

Today I committed 8 additional *.wav files to the .../wsjtx_exp/samples
directory. These will be particularly useful for those learning to use
the modes recently added to WSJT-X, including WSPR, JT4, ISCAT-B, Fast
JT9, and JTMSK. Unfortunately, these files add 6 MB to the WSJT-X
