Do You mean that somebody is really looking FT8 or FT4 reports???
If You can see the call sign on Your screen, it is possible to have a QSO. You
just have to find clear transmitting frequency.
I have worked many DX QSOs and after the QSO have noticed that I was using only
5 W:

People are using Max Distance to select who will be answered!
If You answer without the locator, You are the last one in the
queuthe nearest one
