I am using Debian Jessie + Openbox.
When logged into the machine itself (not via X2Go), I usually hit the
keyboard keys Meta + t to start a new XTerm.
To be able to do this, I added the following keybind into the OpenBox
configuration file "/etc/xdg/openbox/rc.xml":
