This you could add as a panel shortcut button if all other approaches fail. When gnome3 first came out I was unsuccessful at getting it to work with x2go. However, I just tried installing gnome-flashback and gave it another shot, now it mostly works except I can find no way of logging out except to kill the gnome-flashback process.
