the Good, Better, & Best complete configurations for equipment
to set up an APRS digipeater and IGATE. I would be able to check on the
equipment a few times per week.

Is anyone familiar with this type of aerial photos? Can we used them
with Xastir? What can I tell the Mapping Technician to try? What can I do?
Many thanx jt

I think I remember someone describing a method of saving serial png
snapshots. I have searched all the saved posting that I have, but have
not come up with it. Could someone repost or redirect me to it?
Second question how do I use/deal with kml files. Trying to open
them opens Firefox
Thanks, Curt

Does the snapshot feature in your installed version of Xastir
(that you'll be using for the exercise) work perfectly now? This
would be a good time to test it.
8.04.
(There is something funky that I haven't figured out yet with the
hardware on the laptop running the openSUSE)

I'm thinking you guys are all going overboard.
perl -v (on the xubuntu system) returns:
This is perl V5.8.8 built for i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi
Does that tell you what you are asking?

It sounds like all Jim needs to do, is to have Xastir save a snapshot
every 5 minutes, and then have a cron job set up that copies the
latest image to a storag
I think were are sevearl slideshow programs on the Window side that
could be used to display them once you have a set of images

I seem to have four "snapshot" files .png, xpm, kml, geo. Do I want
to change the snapshot.jpg to snapshot.png in the code from Carl?
An then ( just to show how ignorant I am), what do I do with this
code? ... No, I am not kidding. Do I type it in the terminal with the

Hi, Curt
Thank you very much for your help!
I am just getting a slightly modified version of Carl's working am
happily generating snapshots.
When I run Carl's' script, I get
kill: 10: Illegal Option -S
But it seems to work.
I think I will wait until this weekend demo is over and then
Sorry for the off topic, but I am not sure where to start and I figured
some of you folks probably know.. Any suggestions on what I should

I want a method to calculate the locations of N points from a dataset of
locations that has a minimum cumulative distance. That, what are the

Hi, all
1354 CST on 10-25-2010. Is the weather radar up? It seemed to be
working for me yesterday, but nothing is showing anywhere in the USA
right now.
If it is up, and if it is operator error ( the most likely explanation),
any ideas where to start to fix it.
