Yep you're right, exo 0.12.5 fixes the issue (I was using exo 0.12.4). I do
apologise, I had no idea exo was responsible for search. However Thunar is
still unable to be closed when right-clicking and selecting

I dont think yet another shortcut would be a good idea.
I rather would just extend the current "search by typing - Ctrl+F" to not only
match the beginning of the filename, but to just match any part of the
29 matches
