yes it is possible to authenticate with network login .If you are using
ldap authentication for example make sure you have same settings in
/etc/pam.d/xrdp-sesman as whatever you have in pam.d for ssh .The best

You must configure the xrdp pam file the same way it is done in your machine
for the other services (ex: SSH).
In this way LDAP / AS / ... users can login via XRDP.
